Referee Watch – Craig Pawson
Barring any late changes, Craig Pawson of South Yorkshire will be in the middle for Blues’ Championship game against Derby County at St Andrews today. Here is a look at his stats.
Season Performance
Mr Pawson has taken charge of sixteen games so far this season, showing fifty-nine yellow cards and three reds. Of those games seven have been in the Championship and in those matches he has handed out thirty-three cautions and sent three players off.
Last Blues Match Refereed
The last match involving Blues that Mr Pawson took charge of was the 1-1 draw with Blackpool in November. In that game he showed six yellow cards – to Paul Robinson, Mitch Hancox and Dariusz Dudka of Blues and to Chris Basham, Isaiah Osbourne and Ricardo Fuller of Blackpool althought his performance didn’t merit note in my match reflections.
Last Championship Match Refereed
The last game at this level that Mr Pawson officiated in was the Boxing Day clash between Bournemouth and Yeovil. In that game Mr Pawson booked five players; Harry Arter of Bournemouth along with Kevin Dawson, Ed Upson, Joe Ralls and John Lundstram.
Suspension Watch
1 red card – Wade Elliott (three match suspension served)
10 yellow cards – Paul Robinson (second of two match suspension to serve, one match suspension served for five yellow cards)
4 yellow cards – Olly Lee.
3 yellow cards – Neal Eardley, Tom Adeyemi, Lee Novak, and Jonathan Spector
2 yellow cards – Paul Caddis, Callum Reilly, Nikola Zigic, Mitch Hancox, and Shane Ferguson, Federico Macheda
1 yellow card – Koby Arthur, Wade Elliott, Matt Green, Colin Doyle, David Murphy, Darren Randolph, Chris Burke, Albert Rusnak and Andrew Shinnie
The “cut-off” point where a fifth yellow card will no longer attract a suspension is after December 31 2013 and the point where a tenth yellow card will no longer attract a suspension is after April 13 2014.
