BIH Announce Change of Company Secretary
Birmingham International Holdings today made an announcement to the stock exchange about a change of company secretary. Chow Hiu Tung, who was appointed company secretary in December 2012 has resigned to be replaced by Wong Wai Kwok, effective April 23.
It wasn’t the announcement any of us were hoping for or expecting, and I don’t think a lot can be read into it. The announcement confirms that Mr Wong has experience in mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and investor relationship but in reality I would expect any company secretary of a multi-million pound listed company to have that sort of experience.
The one interesting piece of information I did pick up was that there is a Mr Wong with the same name and experience who very recently (April 7) has been named an independent non-executive director of Sing Pao Media Enterprises – the other listed company in Hong Kong which Carson Yeung remains a significant shareholder in. Whether that means anything remains to be seen.
While all this is going on, there has been no further news on Carson’s appeal dates; while grounds for appeal have been lodged his legal team hasn’t been finalised and as yet no application for bail pending appeal has been lodged with the courts either.
There has however been news of further arrests in Hong Kong on money laundering charges of people connected to the casino VIP rooms in Macau, as Carson was. The latest arrest centres around the wife of alleged triad boss Cheung Chi Tai, who was named as one of the depositors into Carson’s five accounts who has been arrested for laundering HK$200Million.

Well, that was an anti-climax.
You know Dan…… if he can find info on google, he sure will print it. Pointless piece of journalism. :-)
and so is your comment
Why don’t you do a hike bud, or a really long walk of a short pier if all you can do is carp, alternatively lets see you do better, troll
Does it mean anything
Is that it? nothing more to report than that .I expected some statement from them regarding bids
Turns out some Geordie who was a pretty good player has got the same name as the crap manager of Birmingham City. Is this the same bloke?
So nothing changes really apart from the guy signing the letters.
Nothing is likely to happen before the last game of the season unless we beat both Leeds and Wigan confirming our status will be championship football next season.
I hope….
KRO+DNM
I look forward to your blog everyday Dan keep up the good work kro
Tony i know disappointment as usual there playing games.
if someone buys 25% it will just fund other stuff not invest in club
Dan thanks for the snippets hat may seem trivial now but could be key later.
Guys – first off Dan cares about the club. Second of all he is just trying to help gather information for the rest of us so we can get the inside track. He is doing his best to supply info for everyone else so either say something useful and give him support or don’t bother commenting.
T.C Raven I understand that you wanted to make a point but I would imagine one comment would suffice. Why the incessant rambling? If anyone wants to take your side in this ramble they are more than welcome, as are you, to go to other sites to get your information on the team you love so well. Dan is doing a great job – check his hits.
Two different blokes Dan
is Carson waiting to see what division we might be in before he appeals??
TC Raven you need to fly to other forums if it makes you happy, and leaves us bloggers to be bloggers its not forum. basically crawl up your own backside and have a nice day…………
Mark – you ain’t a blogger either mate, you’re a commenter. A blogger writes the articles, and there’s only one of those here… ;)
Glad here to here it Daniel lol
What did you expect from an article entitled “BIH Announce Change of Company Secretary” ?
I know I was expecting information on a new Secretary, which I got, and more.
Keep up the good work Dan, MOST of us are with you.
Firstly, if anyone comes in here to undermine the Blogger, we have to suspect ulterior motives, certainly in view of recent actions being threatened (a personal opinion I hasten to add). Why would you sign up and come in to abuse the bloke offering a good service? That aside, regarding the “board”…just more smoke and mirrors…they sicken me.
