Referee Watch – Andy Woolmer
Barring any late changes, Andy Woolmer will be in the middle for Blues’ Championship game against Wigan Athletic at St Andrew’s today. Here is a look at his stats.
Season Performance
Mr Woolmer has taken charge of twenty-nine games so far this season, showing eighty-four yellow cards and two reds. Of those games, six have been in the Championship and in those games he has dished out twenty cautions.
Last Blues Game Refereed
The last Blues game Mr Woolmer officiated in was the 4-0 home win over Millwall back in October. In that game he booked just one player – Paul Robinson of Millwall – and his performance attracted no attention in my match reflections.
Last Championship Game Refereed
The last game at this level Mr Woolmer was in the middle for was the match between Bournemouth and Reading at the Fitness First stadium on April 8. In that game he booked two players – Ryan Fraser of Bournemouth and Jordan Obita of Reading.
Suspension Watch
15 yellow cards – Paul Robinson (one matches of a three match ban to serve, two suspensions previously served)
6 yellow cards – Nikola Zigic, Callum Reilly and Jonathan Spector
5 yellow cards – Federico Macheda, Hayden Mullins and Olly Lee
4 yellow cards – Paul Caddis
3 yellow cards – Neal Eardley, Mitch Hancox, Tom Adeyemi, Shane Ferguson and Lee Novak
2 yellow cards – Darren Randolph
1 yellow card – Koby Arthur, Matt Green, Colin Doyle, Chris Burke, Emyr Huws, Brian Howard, Albert Rusnak, Jordon Ibe and Andrew Shinnie
The “cut-off” point where a fifth yellow card will no longer attract a suspension is after December 31 2013 and the point where a tenth yellow card will no longer attract a suspension is after April 13 2014. If a player collects fifteen yellow cards before the end of the season they will attract a three match ban.

I don’t like the manager, the board or the players
But being a Blues fans has many more layers
From boy to man ive backed the shirt
Through joys and sorrows and all the hurt
Again tonight the shirt needs me
And stood on the kop again I’ll be
I will call upon all my strength and that of those who’ve gone
Singing for me and them, keep right on
For my father and grand father and his father too
I’ll scream my support for those in Blue
I’ll spit venom and bile as i have before
Let our opponents hear the Brummie roar
I have no fear its excitement for me
A win would be akin to any cup final victory
So get off your backsides and fill the ground
A 90 minute thrill ride for just 10 pound
So relax, stay calm, help yourself to a beer
Be strong, be brave, show no fear
Then strap yourself in, get ready for the thriller
Blues WILL stay up, and we’ll shit on the Villa
You will have plenty to talk about today, he was very poor. Seemed more interested in laughing with the Players than doing his job.
Another crap ref, hopefully they will be better in league one….
