Peter Resigns; Richardson Ready

Documents obtained from Companies House this morning confirm the resignation of controversial company secretary Derek Peter from Soccer Management Worldwide Ltd, who are currently involved in trying to buy a stake in Birmingham City.

The filings show that Peter resigned on May 30, the day after SMW were revealed to be bidding for the company and Peter’s position was confirmed on this website. He has been replaced by SMW director Peter Day, who was formerly Deputy Managing Director of Blues.

Meanwhile, former BCFC Non-Executive director Paul Richardson tweeted a reply to the @often_partisan twitter account yesterday saying that his consortium “had everything in place”

paul richardson

Richardson is a member of the BCFC2014 consortium which has also been in the running for buying a stake in Blues and has previously completed due diligence.

Are BCFC2014, joining up with SMW, ?. or are they separate entities, Dan, ?.

    • Chris says:

They are seperate entities, but BCFC2014 have been approached by SMW. So it seems there is a lot of talking from SMW to other grops behind the scenes, which for me can only be a good thing if it means we end up with people who are like minded with BCFC interests at heart.
      Only time will tell.

      • Oldbluenose says:

Morning Chris;, Thanks for your reply, this is a long drawn out saga is it not, ?. As you say, — If like minded people are getting together, it should be to our advantage to have more sources of financial aid to make a clean cut buyout, IF that will be the outcome,?.
The ” secrecy ” is nerve shredding for us, as clear-cut information has been lacking for so long, — Yes, we know initial talks are legally necessary for HKSE. but we are worried about the short term effects on next season, — KRO.

  • Big Al says:

Did he resign before or after you exposed his credentials?

  • EddieBirmingham says:

doesnt this contradict what Tom Ross was saying this week, that they are not connected

    • EddieBirmingham says:

to quote Tom “Speculation that a British consortium is in talks with the preferred bidders about joining forces to buy Blues has been rubbished. The second British group that includes millionaire Paul Richardson has told Free Radio that they have not had any talks or contact with the preferred bidders who are led by former Swindon chairman Jeremy Wray.”

    • OftenPartisan says:

Did I say that they were connected here? Can you not understand it’s two seperate bits of news?

  • ian says:

why don’t we just organise a whip round ?

  • alex hurley says:

surely +ve news ? as you keep saying, this wont be quick (or painless) but a UK consortium comprising people with knowledge of the club is exactly what most of us want (well, that and a £100m transfer kitty which is perhaps a tad less likely….)

    • Geoff S says:

Knowledge of the club? Maybe, but as Agent McLeish said in his posting of about 20 minutes ago, are they dubious and why are they prepared to get into bed with an organisation like BIHL?

Have they got any money between them?

  • Chris W says:

BCFC2014 only has one listed director Paul Richardson and Pavareco Management Inc, which also happens to have Paul Richardson named as its sole director.
Not having that much acumen regarding directorships none seem to mention Jeremy Wray as director, secretary or employee so I question as to who Jeremy Wray is speaking for.
With no news forthcoming from either HKSE or BIHL along with HKSE rules not appearing to be adhered, all seems to be bluff, double bluff and more 0f smoke and mirrors.
Paladini went about the business of bragging a deal could be completed in 10 days, Wray is saying everything is in place, in truth nothing is happening and we all know where the Paladini scenario ended. Is Wray just another Paladini in disguise.
Is Peter Day the same director/secretary who has been involved in at least 6 companies that ended in being dissolved, these included Swansea City Football Club and Peterborough Sporting Club Ltd, yet another tarnished record in business.
Every Way you look into this consortium they swim in murky waters which is probably why BIHL make them their preferred bidder.

    • OftenPartisan says:

      Chris

      a) their one listed director is Richard Caplan.

      b) Pavareco Management is based in Belize. I’d LOVE to know how you got those details.

      • Luke Bowen says:

Regarding a), So who’s Christopher Farnell then?

      • Chris W says:

        Website called companycheck.co.uk
and it keeps coming back with the same company Pavareco management Inc. and no mention to belize.
Basically I use google search engines as I’m not a nerd or pc whizzkid. I do try to cross reference, as I found another Chris Farnell who just happens to have an office less than a mile along the same stretch of road as Pavareco and BCFC2014., however he is not involved with either company but does have North american connections within the sport industry.

          Interesting Chris.

          • Chris W says:

Not really, don’t take long over a cup of coffee, I just drink plenty of coffee :-) . There are some real internet whizzes out there I just dabble and try to find that something different that some may overlook.
I have a keen interest in anything BCFC and if I can have an input with interest I am happy to do so.
            KRO+DNM

    • Luke Bowen says:

I think you’re a bit confused. It’s Richardson who’s saying everything is in place, not Wray.

The reason you find no connection between Wray and BCFC2014 or Pavareco is because there is none. Wray is heading up a different consortium (SMW).

  • Thongs says:

Its seems to me that SMW has jumped the gun. they may well have been given time to go through the books etc but it doesn’t seem that they are any further forward than any other group. Its all still to play for in my book. The most shocking thing since the SMW announcement is the signing of the 3 legged donkey from Oldham.

    • Chris W says:

At the moment it would appear that all we can afford are three legged donkeys, however I think claiming Jonathan Grounds is such a donkey are somewhat unfounded. He may not be world class, but since when have we signed a world class player, yes we have had international has beens, or some eastern bloc three legged in the way of a giraffe equivalent.
As long as he is prepared to play for the badge and give 110% then we should welcome him into the fold until such time he proves otherwise.
He may just be the answer we have been looking for, he has experience at the lower league and championship levels, who knows he might just make the next world cup in Russia.
Never judge a book by its cover.

      • Thongs says:

26 yr old going nowhere fast at Oldham after being on loan to more clubs than in Nick Faldos golf bag tells me to return that book to the library.

        • Big Al says:

That’s inaccurate – he’s played for the last two season at Oldham who were desperate to keep him. It is totally unfair to make Grounds the symbol of our financial demise. Anyway I’d rather sign young players looking to make a step up than old has-beens looking for a final pay day like we’ve done previously.

  • dave mann says:

why not give paul richardson the 24% if is consortium is ready to go and have eveything in place?… it looks like wrays lot are struggling to me and this whole saga doesene seem to make any sense what so ever. KRO.

    • Chris W says:

I agree Dave, so many names, consortiums and no end of murky waters keep throwing all sorts of scenarios up.
Lets get the ball rolling with one group and rid us of BIHL and the whole stock exchange fiasco.
no matter which way we dress it up it is going to be a 2 year deal before we can look forward to anything remotely half decent.
      KRO+DNM

  • Agent McLeish says:

We seem to be shafted on two fronts:
    1. BIHL sell a % to a consortium with dubious backgrounds. Any serious buyers who could turn the club around will be put off from having to get into bed with BIHL.
    2. BIHL dither too long and administration occurs.

    • Chris W says:

Sadly, I think the only way to get a clean break is through administration.
Not satisfactory but it is obvious that BIHL and HKSE are determined that BCFC is not sold in its entirety and thus flounder along until one or both go bust.
Something or someone has to take the initiative and call the bluff of BIHL and force their hand.
      KRO+DNM

  • ian says:

i;m wondering if it would be easier to buy a controlling share of BIHL

    • Luke Bowen says:

It would be easier to hop along a high-wire, juggling sticks of dynamite, farting the Indiana Jones soundtrack whilst being pecked by a flock of demented seagulls.

      • AussieBlue says:

ROFLMAO at that Luke! Love to see a cartoon of that.
Ian; BIHL has market capitalisation of around GBP56 million. There are about 5.4 billion shares issued currently trading around 13.3 HK cents. Number of shares x vale = market cap. So to take over BIHL 100% you need at least GBP56 mill unless shares fall to par value (HK 10 cents) or below. That said, someone has been buying wodges of BIHL shares every day…if it’s the same entity, they could be building up to a 29.9% sharehilding, after which they must decalre a take-over offer. This is normally at a share price premium, eg 20% above last day’s trade. It then becomes a battle to persuade shareholders to accept, decline, or ask for a higher offer. If successful, the entity would own BCFC plc, no problem. If any shareholder held out (eg CY who still owns 15% of BIHL shares); they may be in a precarious position as share price will drop. Or, they could be ‘squeezed out’ in a compulsory acquisition once a certain % of ownership has been reached…not sure what that is in HK.
Summary: you’d need very deep pockets, pay far more than the club is worth and would need to unravel the BIHL imbroglio – which in itself could possibly be a horror story. In other words:

I say stick with info from Tom Ross.

He never gets things wrong or jumps the gun. He only makes fully informed, sensible factually based statements. Anything else is pure guesswork.

    XD

  • StevieW says:

How about the scenario of BIHL offering 24% of BCFC for an investment in BIHL where the investors get any return in profits on their investment with BIHL but remain a minority partner in BCFC. BIHL get their diversity and keep BCFC maintaining a safety net in case their new venture falls through.

Sounds mad but so does everythin else at the moment.

    • beegeeblueboy says:

To get in the Prem and stabilise there I doubt if they’ll be any profit until Prem season three. Also on dividend distribution could include out one set of shareholders ie BIH

  • mark says:

well if everything in place, what we worried about??lets get on and support the boys….kro

our bid as offered, so BIH can still tell them where to jump…..interesting

well maybe it was untenable his position within the company once word got out of previous failing…..

  • mark says:

how long Daniel before SMW due diligence is up??

  • mark says:

Daniel on what day is Ziggy contract up???it is this month??

  • williammorgan says:

Perhaps the British bidders are all going to make there own bids and those that end up as the preferred bidders will run the club ,with the others joining the board later to make a very knowledgeable and influential board for blues

  • williammorgan says:

In the case of BIH I think I would rather have a bit of guess work now and then to stop the silence blowing the top of my head off

  • beegeeblueboy says:

He may have everything in place but have BIH accepted his deal? Still as he is no doubt Tom’s mate he can do no wrong with him.

  • Gary says:

Totally sick & tired of this whole situation is this silly soap opera going to attract the missing fans back if anything it’s going to make them stay away for good. I know I’m repeating myself but it just sounds like the Chinese want to keep a firm grip of blues the only way is admin horrible for the people who work at blues but I think this is the only way we are going to get rid of these leeches for good.

  • AussieBlue says:

Mates, it really is simple. There is a consortium comprised of other consortiums. This consortium of consortiums is working in concert with another consortium to form an agglomerated consortium that will be the one consortium to rule them all. This Uber-Consortium, shall we call it, send a consort to the USA to speak with financial backers, who are themselves a consortium of consortiums with deep knowledge of enterprise and derivatives; in order to finance the buying of 24% of BCFC while the majority owners get their own consortiums together in the Far East, to sweep up the mess inherited from their previous consortium. To do this, they dine out in Wancahi and crunch fortune cookies each night until they get the one that promises wealth and prosperity within 2 Moons, so long as they send fortune cookies to 250,000 other people.
Meanwhile, the Federation of Uber Consortiums with Knowledge of Enterprise Derivatives, lives on by its own acronym.
    Simples!
