Barring any late changes, Mark Brown of East Yorkshire will be in the middle for Blues’ Championship game against Brighton and Hove Albion at St Andrews on Saturday. Here is a look at his stats.

Mr Brown has taken charge of two games so far this season, showing three yellow cards. Last season he took charge of thirty-two games, showing seventy-seven yellow cards and seven reds. Of those games, eight were in the Championship and those yielded eighteen bookings and one sending-off.

The last match involving Blues Mr Brown officiated in was the 3-0 defeat to Burnley at Turfmoor last September. In that game, Mr Brown kept his cards in his pocket and attracted no comment from Colin Tattum in his match report.

The last match at this level involving Mr Brown was Wigan’s season opener against Reading. In that game Mr Brown showed yellow cards to Andrew Taylor of Wigan and Shaun Cummings of Reading.

Didn’t Gunning fail a medical at Sheffield Wednesday?
I appreciate this is off subject but I really do feel sorry for Gunning-this is a terrible injury and is possibly career threatening.
I wish him a full and speedy recovery!
