Another ref who over the years has done us no favours. I remember in particular an away game against Bolton when with us 2-1 he awarded Bolton a free kick on the edge of area when Barry Ferguson got sandwiched by two of their players. It couldn’t have been a clearer free kick to Blues and off course they scored the equaliser from it. Expecting more of the same today.

A terrible Ref. He was on charge of the Wolves match when we were relegated. Another of those who should not be let near a Football match, he is disgustingly inept.

  • Andy P says:

My heart sank when I saw he was ref. I remember both those games,we were 2-0 up at Bolton and he gave them to 2 ridiculous Free kicks both resulting in goals, and the game against wolves sent off Craig Gardner for diving, not even in penalty area but middle of park. If we had won that game we would have stayed up.The rest is history!!

  • AuldBertie says:

And didn’t he just live up to our expectations – truly shocking

I don’t normally comment on referees but Mr Friend has no friends in Birmingham.
That must be the worst official at BCFC in many a year, we got absolutely nothing, in fact we got less than nothing.
No complaints with the sending off, you lift your hands it is a red card, but Donaldson was man handled throughout the game and got nothing.
