Video Podcast: Is No News Good News?
With nothing forthcoming from Hong Kong about either Carson’s appeal verdict or the sale of Birmingham City, is it possible that no news is good news? As Blues fans we’re used to delay from the Far East being a bad thing but in this case it might not be that way.
Key Points
- Carson’s appeal team are apparently confident but delay could be concerning to them
- Carson’s appeal verdict will be balance of judicial and political standpoints
- Ernst and Young will want to do things “by the book” to ensure that there is no comebacks complicating the situation later on.

The club are advertising for a PA to the director/chief coordinating officer, would that be to support Panos? If so, it seems strange to be bringing someone in to the club to support someone who, if CY gets his way will no longer be at the club. Am I just reading too much into this, or does it suggest Panos is here for the duration?
You’re reading too much into it.
Dan i should know this but does the club own Wast Hills Training Ground?
I believe the club own a long term lease on the training ground which has about 80 to 90 years left to run I think.
Leased from a university. If I was the owner I’d want to buy the freehold
99 year lease, or something like that.
Above comments are correct. 99 year lease from Uni of Birmingham.
Carson was in negotiations to buy it just before he got arrested.
Dan just wondering, IF Carson is successful with his appeal does he have the right to sue for false imprisonment & do you think this could have a bearing on the courts decision on whether to release him or not?
Good question.
Yes I think he could, but I doubt it has a bearing on the decision
