End of Season – an Often Partisan Video Podcast
With the end of the season upon us I wanted to talk about renewing player contracts, testimonials and why a judge going on holiday is holding something important up.
Key Points:
- Statement on Colin Doyle testimonial from Blues Collective
- We should hear something from EY tomorrow as the month deadline elapses
- Another reason for the hold up in Carson’s appeal verdict being heard

With all this end of season talk it got me thinking if there’s a pivotal moment when last season becomes this season and next season becomes this season. Is it after the Cup Final; World Cup / Euro’s, if applicable; at the moment the fixtures are released; when the players report back for training?
Thoughts?
i think this season will become next etc etc, when the transfer window opens ( I think that’s 9th of june) as this means player can move again.. although for me its always 1st of july officially (but unofficially lol) as this is when players contracts expire (30th june each year).. or go with the fixture release date whenever that is lol
a big thankyou to dan for all the hard work keeping us informed about everything blues.dare we dream playoffs next season? why not
Another good video OP it has been decent season but as for the sale if blues don’t get sold outright then I think it’s a bad thing and another step backwards. I think Gary Rowett is a very ambitious manager and he will want to manage at the highest he can if we don’t get sold he will never do that with blues with these people in charge it will mean bargain basement every season and selling players just so he can have money to spend. IMO he will only put up with that for so long before he gets fed up and he will get poached by another club.
Season Ends at the final whistle of last game of season – Then it becomes Pre Season – Season starts ant first whistle of new campaign
With respect you are missing the point. Pre season isn’t a competition
Julian, good question, I always thought the FA cup final was the final curtain on the English season but I would say when the players report back for training then I will say next season is this season and this season was last season ?? .. Make any sense? .. Anyway things do look more optemistic and it will be interesting seeing what rowett does this summer . Kro
I remember that, for decades, the FA Cup Final was held on the first Saturday in May. Things have not been the same since Sky bought football out.
Another good video podcast. I must say I quite enjoy them. Nice to see you’ve had your ears lowered Mr Ivery. ;)
All sounds positive ! I remain slightly cautious but reading today that Demari Gray is happy to stay is a big boost and I will become a believer if the club prove they mean business and don’t sell him. On another note Dan,my mate is continuing to wind me up about Pannu being the owner of the Ladies team. I told him you were a keen follower of the Ladies and would hardly support anything to do with Pannu so it must be rubbish. He bet me £50 and I took the bet so please confirm its rubbish so I can collect !
Another informative posting, — Thanks.
Eagerly awaiting some positive news from E + Y, tomorrow,?. As regards the HK, judiciary,????.
Unbeleivable. I bet he’s gone on a 6 month round the world cruise.
A nice 3 month cruise sounds nice .. And just in time for the start of the season .. Off to the travel agents me thinks . Kro
Dan…. You mentioned that you saw a bidder at the player awards at the ICC. Presumably others saw him as well. Why are you unable to disclose his name and organisation?
Just to reiterate the comment made by Dan at the end of the video. I was on holiday last week and read his book.
I would really urge all Blues Supporters and anybody interested in football to read it. It really shows in detail. but in an understanding way, what has been going on. It’s not just a slagging off of CY, there is much more to the story than that cheap shot
A great read
