And we’re back…
It’s been an eventful 48 hours or so but I’m pleased to announce that OP should return to normal very shortly following my relocation.
I wanted to put on record my thanks to every single person who has been in touch with offers of help along with all the emails, tweets and messages of support – it means a lot to me. Although there isn’t much happening right now I am hopeful of sending out a mailout tomorrow and as it stands there should be a video podcast on site on Friday.
Thanks once again – or as they say here in Poland dziękuję!

Glad your settled welcome back
Daniel, Hope your re-location works out well for you, Happy to know you are still continuing your outputs here in the u,k.
It’s good to hear from you Dan and welcome to their expats club.
Great to know you have relocated safely Daniel, get yourself to Krakow over the weekend, excellent city.
When you have finally unpacked the kitchen sink, the wife and kids etc, let us know the latest gossip from HK or elsewhere.
Good work Dan, OP is by far the first point of call for all Bluenoses when it comes to news. Now, if you could just work out the Polish for Keep Right On….. :)
Trzymaj się prawej na (or as near as damn it) ;)
I thought you were going to Portland, not Poland?
Watch out for that global warming. I hear that is is causing havoc with the poles.
One of the few countries in Europe I’ve never been to is Poland but be close come end of August when I will be in Germany for a week hopefully not missing a game while ime out there but were after wait for the fixtures to come out.. Keep the info coming Dan as your the only source of any information from Blues or the Far East .. The mails useless and the local stations are well out of touch, keep the faith and the news coming please! Kro
I think OP is the only source of info most Blues fans bother with nowadays. You can’t rely on any other website for truth and accuracy.
Now that your settled in Poland and have nothing to do!!! I presume you will be doing a bit of scouting for us?
Good luck in your new home. Kro
Glad you are settling in, hope everything goes well for you. Poles I’ve had dealings with have been brilliant. Love the Carson reference to sending out a bailout tomorrow!
As they say here in Poland dziękuję! That’s easy for you to say! Poland is great even if their alphabet doent make sense
Really pleased your relocation went well. Keep up the good work through OP.
Nice to have u back. After watching two ex Blues fire Norwich into the premier league I was wondering if you know what money we get from clauses in the Redmond deal and if Norwichs parachute payments will be split amongst all the Championship clubs. I’ve heard conflicting views that the payments will be split amongst the 20 premier league clubs
The premiership teams share the £24 million and we get £200k but might have to wait a season for it .. That’s sounds fair enough to me ! .. Why should the championship teams get it ! But then again why do we have to wait for our money! Kro
Are you sure Dave as i thought it was shared between all the teams in the championship without any current parachute payments, so for example qpr and cardiff wouldnt gain from it?
Again we are seeing enormous sums of money being split among Prem. Clubs. World investors must look at Prem. footy and think what a great opportunity to obtain nearly £100m. for getting out of the Championship. 3 teams out of 24 get the prize. So frustrating when we have everything set up which only needs a tweeking of 5 really quality players. Bournemouth did it,Watford also and last season Burnley. Birmingham City like Manchester City are colossal cities..only difference being that the latter got the attraction of wealthy owners a few years back. I cannot help feeling there will be an ambitious ,seriously minded group who will see the prize awaiting. Just a matter of when and hopefully not if.
With all the money now involved in the Premiership, within a couple of years there will not only be a huge gulf between the Prem and Championship but a significant gulf will appear at the top of Championship and those below.
We’re not big enough to get major sponsorship . .. Not yet . Kro
Glad to hear your sorted dan, after all your hard work on here I wish you the success and happiness you could wish for KRO
Matt Green has been re-signed by Mansfield Town. Really pleased for the bloke.
What a pity Matt Green was dogged with that injury when he was with Blues. He might have banged a few goals in had he been fit to play.
That said, I think Gary Rowett will want to set his sights at a higher level than Mansfield when looking at the possibility of bringing in new players. That is certainly no disrespect to the Nottinghamshire club – I recall travelling to Field Mill many years ago to a night match where Mansfield beat Blues 5-2. It really was an awful night.
Glad everything went well Dan, looking forward to your regular reports when you and the family are finally sorted
Good luck Dan to you and your family and from what i am told from Polish colleagues ; yes they have bad winters but they also tell me they have proper warm / hot summers so just the right time to emigrate.
If you have family there thats half the battle to help the settling in.
Hopefully you’ll do some blogs on how you see life there Including their football and their major sport speedway.
I’m in krakow this minute .terrible rain today. Auschwitz, zakopane then home Friday.
Was very wet in Katowice yesterday, I got caught in it twice…
Hi Dan, all the very best for Poland. Great people and GREAT beer!
I know you think my jokes are totally crap but in case it cheers you up in the rain:
Polish guy goes to the optician
“Can you read this?” says optician pointing to the eye-test chart
“Read it??? I bleedin’ wrote it!” replies Stanislaus.
If you ban me I’ll understand.
is this your last move or are you considering the north pole next…..happy you are ok
so you be watching the matches via bcfc link next season………….
Hope that it continues to go well for you. Thank you for all the work you put in to keep Blues fans all over the world informed. may the best things in life happen to you and your family….and your football club:-)
