Blues Linked With German Winger

Reports in Germany have linked Birmingham City with 19-year-old German forward Tugay Gündogan. The Osnabruck player scored five goals and set up 13 in the Oberliga Niedersachsen last season for the Geman side’s second string.

Gündogan, who also holds a Turkish passport has been seen as a rising talent along with his team mate 22-year-old Deniz Taşkesen and reports online published yesterday have linked the teenager with PSV Eindhoven as well as Blues

From limited information available online it would appear Gündogan is two-footed and can play either on the wing, in the hole or up front.

Whether anything comes of it remains to be seen but bearing in mind the paucity of resources Blues have in scouting on the continent it’s good to see we can still be linked with promising talent.

German players no matter what age are reliable, disciplined and fully professional and they will do for me and if this lad as a bit about him then why not .. Ime expecting at least one player today if not two but if not then we carry on looking and we get the right players in for what we need and not sign players just for numbers , fingers xxxxx! Kro

I like the name of his teammate, Deniz Taşkesen – Sea Stonecutter!

This is good to see although I cant see us competing with psv

The promise of first team football may help. Also important to consider that the standard wouldn’t be much different in the Championship and Eridivisie.

I’d also assume, as many Germans can, that the kid can speak English.

Tesche coming in could help this one over the line if he wants a *Inbetweeners voice* German friend, although we’ve been linked with that many players in recent weeks I wouldn’t be surprised if a local newspaper in Tegucigalpa links says we’re resigning Carlos Costly, or an agent in Prague links us with Martin Latka.

As the old saying goes, I’ll believe it when I see it.

      Trust the man, KRO.

    Any relation to Ilkay?

Be nice to actually sign a player or two, this Kiernan business is a little odd to say the least!

  • Mitchell says:

As Mr.Mann comments these two serious signings will come. Yesterday and today were the expected days simply because of the fixture release and potential renewal of season tickets etc. However, slight delays cannot be helped and when proper contracts are at stake, whether 2/3/4 years the finances have to be in place to guarantee wages for whatever the contract period. Obviously, GR does his bit then Panos has the hard bit of the financial side. Heroic work indeed when you realise what a place he is in. He will however not let anyone down, least of all the fans, with the expected and required personel GR needs.

Just for the sake of balance, I’m going to say here and now in reply that I think you and Dave Mann are dead wrong. Neither Tesche nor Fabbrini are “about” to sign for the club. That may change and they may well do so, but I doubt very much it’s imminent.

  • eds77 says:

Yes I’m getting frustrated now with this lack of activity ,in fact if rowett didn’t do that little thing in the bham mail the other day I’d swear blind someone had locked him in the away dressing room at bolton and won’t be seen or heard till Bolton return for pre season lol

  • StaffsBlue says:

Tbh, I think Tesche and Fabbrini are just wishful thinking. It would be nice if they became reality, but I won’t be holding my breath.

  • andy says:

It is no secret that Tesche and Fabbrini are Rowett’s top targets but in the end it all comes down to the financial side and whether these players wish to take a drop in salary to sign for Birmingham. I would imagine a goalkeeper is top priority at present.

  • Jazzzy786 says:

Maybe we should sign Lee Clark as director of football for a month to sign a few players and sack him again. I’m getting really twitchy about this lack of activity. Though LC was a crap manager he was pretty good in the transfer market.

There is plenty of talent in the German 2. Bundesliga.
Why not go for young Danish Rocket Yussuf Poulsen from Leipzig who has already had his International debut and right now is playing U21 Euro Champs. On a good day and when the sun is shining he reminds you of Ronaldinho

Tesche apparently moves on to 25k a week nxt season at forest as did Mackie ,they moved him out and would like to do the same with tesche but if he’s to come here I think it would be more likely to be on a season long loan with us paying a percentage of his money rather than permanent, why would he go anywhere for 5/10 k a week when he can pocket 25k and go out on loan somewhere ,by the way that’s the opinion of my mate who’s a forest fan ,but like everything at this stage of pre season all speculation

  • I find this lack of news mistrusting , the lack of any news from within the clubs in which we supposedly are after players is unusually nil when reporters are desperate for news , which means to me that we are waiting for the prem window to open ,we are waiting for bih wallet to open , Gaz R’s still buried up to his neck on the beach , tesche has signed for Exeter ,peter pan has been told to take the money owed to him out of the missing £2 million , or perhaps mister C is being chased by a gay prison Chaplin and has decided to leave his body to God, ..kro
