All Quiet on the Eastern Front
It’s all gone quiet in Hong Kong of late but as September comes to a close Birmingham International Holdings are due to announce their accounts which cover the year ending June 30 2015. They are also due to present a takeover update to the exchange on the same day.
I can’t say I know much of what will happen with the takeover update other than I’m expecting that once again there won’t be much news. The last I heard was that the hope was that the re-listing of shares would be completed by Chinese New Year (February 8, 2016) and while there is talk of Carson softening his stance on negotiation there has been nothing firm to suggest that.
Peter Pannu was due to be in court twice in the last couple of weeks (September 11 and September 18) with respect to the writ he filed against BIH for the “hurt and distress” caused in his removal. Both hearings were postponed/cancelled at short notice and as it stands there are no further hearings planned; when I emailed the Receivers asking for information on if they expect to face another hearing they respectfully declined to comment.
It could be that the case is still ongoing – or that some sort of deal has been reached with a confidentiality clause; I’m really not sure. I would hope that when the accounts are filed there will be something in there to say if they are reserving any money against any potential damages claim in this case; if they are not (or fail to mention it) then I would assume that has been brought to a conclusion.
The case against Carson will be heard in Chambers on October 20 – this will no doubt be a prelude to any full hearing and I doubt we’ll hear much about this if anything in the press as it doesn’t say that it is open to the public.
As always, it’s a case of watch this space.

If they had reached a deal, even if there were a confidentiality clause, there would still be a Court order finishing the case. It would say something like “it is ordered that the parties comply with the terms of an agreement which is to be kept confidential”. Your HK chaps ought to be able to dig that bit out at least.
Nothing as yet – as always ear to the ground…
All quiet on the eastern front but not on the championship front.. Brentford sack there manager and Lee Carsley takes over for the time being .. And we play them tomorrow .. Interesting ! Kro
In other news I see Brentford have sacked their manager and will be replaced by former Bluenose Lee Carsley!
Dan, I know this hearing on 20th Oct is mainly about Carson but lets not forget its also about PP1 and for me I am hoping that E&Y have something nice and meaty in store for him. As for CY as long as he is a good boy and does a deal to allow this club to move on then I care less what happens to him. But this is not just about Carson.
I’m so looking forward to the day Dan posts “Blues takeover complete no more Carson”.
Probably be the day I retire OP tbh
and that will be a very sad day.
As long as it doesn’t happen on April 1st cos no one will believe it!!
Don`t hold your breath mate,our current owners will be in situ for years (imho of course).I`ve said this ad infinitum for ages even when there were rumours that a takeover was imminent. Don`t ever understimate the stickability of people like CY and PP.
Most of us on here will be dead by then .. Enjoy the here and now! Kro
Bloody Nora, Evans gets is best result of the season at stans Saturday and now he’s gone to .. What’s going on? Kro
Owners who don’t know their ar$e from their elbows… that’s what’s wrong Dave. Too flippin’ many of them buying our clubs.
Did Brentwood sack their manager after Evans went? If so he could be their manager in time for the game tomorrow. Now that would be a first wouldn’t it? A team facing the same manager in successive games with different teams!
… and if so and you believe in lightning striking twice we’re in trouble with a capital S tomorrow
Reports say that Carsley is in charge till the end of the season Julian.
Julian , they’ve already give it to bluenose Lee Carsely or the season mate . Kro
Julian , they’ve already given the job till the end of the season to bluenose Lee Carsley mate .kro
My team for Brentford, with a new formation of 4-2-3-1-1 would be :-
Kuszczak
Caddis, Morrison, Spector, Grounds;
Davis, Kieftenbeld;
Cotterill, Gleeson, Toral;
Gray;
Donaldson.
Away from home, I’d stick to the 4-2-3-1 until the International break, then work on other things in the two weeks off. My team for tomorrow would be:
Kuszczak
Caddis Morrison Spector Grounds
Kieftenbeld Davis
Cotterill Gleeson Maghoma
Donaldson
I have got a feeling Davis will come in for Kelftenbeld and maybe Maghoma for Toral with Gray going into the middle.
I posted the team that I would like to see. Mr Rowett seems to be a creature of habit, he’ll probably play the same team as he did against Rotherham, if they’re all fit.
Would we get away with fielding 12 players at the same time Richard .. Worth a try at the moment on current form but Brentford will now be wanting to win for there new man Mr Carsely so could be another disappointing Tuesday evening for us bluenoses . Hope not, don’t fancy going to Leeds with another defeat under our belt , a win and renewed vigour will blossom for our trip to South Yorkshire. Kro
Dave…..Keep it to yourself and on no account tell Lee Carsley.
Pure genius Richard – in a very devious 4-2-3-1-1 formation. Carsley wont spot that. Love it.
Is that Sherwoods 2nd half formation for the weekend!
According to BBC Website Brentford have big selection problems & Carsley may be forced to look in to his U21’s squad. We need to kick start our season & even though we have doubts on the Don & Shinnie we should be taking 3 points tomorrow. We just have to be mindful that we were expected to beat Rotherham & look what happened, any youngsters they might bring in will want to prove a point & they tend to play without fear. Simply showing up does not guarantee us 3 points. A performance to match the Vile first half should see us through this one if we’re back on our game!
Yes I also hear the plight of Brentfords horrendous injury list and player suspensions. If Gray and co. Cannot terrorise in this game, then we may as well play for safety for the rest of the season. Pull no punches here GR has won many deserved accolades over nearly 12 months-but these are rapidly drying up and brave measures and tough leadership is needed. One point from last 4league games must not become 1 out of 15 points. with Leeds looming. Forget the CH debates- just keep upfield and give the defence a night off for once. Goal in each half expected.
As long as we stick to a passing game and not hoof ball, we’ll be ok. If Donaldson doesn’t play, there’s no point banging it up for Brock-Madsen. I suppose we could try B-M with Gray just behind him.
Our over dependence on Donaldson to run himself into the ground every game is wearing a bit thin and it’s time to find another option up front wheather he is injured or not. GR needs to have some conviction here and give B-M a start and see what happens. How else is he going to flourish and get some momentum when he’s thrown on for 15 mins or so as a desperate measure when we’re loosing. If GR doesn’t have the confidence in the kid then it makes the Thomas loan all the more baffling to me.
If Gray isn’t going to be put into a different position / role, he needs to be dropped because we are basically playing with 10 men with him wide on the left.
That so called free kick he took against Villa which he chipped straight into Guzan’s arms sums up his lack of confidence. Anyone on here could have matched that pathetic effort for a lot less money.
I agree with giving B-M a start. Tbh he looks like a dud buy, a blonde Zigic that can’t seem to jump, but until we give him a run, we won’t know for sure.
Has everyone else seen the rumour that WBA are to make a move for Gray in the January ‘Sales’, shame its 4 month’s away, I would let him go now and get someone who knows that the goal posts are at each end of the pitch. Kro
I had high hopes that Gray would replace Redmond eventually, but I despair of him ever reaching that level. He can’t beat his full back, so for me, he isn’t a winger. He’s never going to score many goals, because most of his shots trouble the crowd more than the opposing keeper. So, I’m at a loss to know where he fits in tbh. Sorry, but his form so far this season, doesn’t warrant a place in the first XI.
