The Carson Trial: Final Appeal, Day 2
Carson’s lawyers today made the argument that his convictions on five counts of money laundering should not stand due to the way the original charges were structured against him.
Oriental Daily reports that Carson’s lawyers have pointed to the complexity of the charges and the number of transfers involved – 900 or so – and that the charges should have related to individual charges as they would in a rape case or similar; with specimen charges considered for prosecution.
Once again the prosecution lawyers have pointed to how interlinked the transactions were and the impossibility to define one transaction as being “money laundering” by itself.
What potentially is more interesting is who was seen at Carson’s trial – Peter Pannu was in attendance, making rumours of Carson and Pannu not getting on look false. In my time covering Carson’s original trial I only saw Pannu in court once for about fifteen minutes while the judge summed up the case – I’m quite surprised to see him there today.
Neither Carson’s “legal advisor” Isaac Sadiq nor driver/bodyguard Arjun Gurung Kumar were present as they were yesterday, which would lend credence to rumours of antipathy between the various associates of the former BCFC president.
The final day of the hearing is tomorrow, with judgement expected in July.

Is that Peter Pannu in the background of the photo?
It is, I could have swore I wrote about it in the article?
Yes I know you wrote about PP. Just wasn’t 100% sure it was his face in the picture. You never know, he might have slimmed down and grown a hipster beard since he was last caught on camera.
Looks like he has slimmed down.
As much as you’re a legend Dan for keeping us all up to date with the off the field matters, you can be such a dick.
He was only asking a question, there was no need for sarcasm, as you give out to quite a few of your followers!
I hate to say this, but I’m a human being. Sarcasm is who I am, I genuinely can’t help it.
It’s either accept I might be snarky or accept I won’t comment at all.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Quite a sad comment of yours Daniel. Gives out a message of not really having the remotest respect for anyone who bothers to comment-but as you always say it is your site etc.
You can read it that way if you wish – I’m merely stating I’m human and not a robot – which means sometimes I will be snarky – I can’t help it. This is a blog, nothing more and it bugs me that people expect more and more of it and me because they want to treat it as their forum. Yes, I can be a dick but that’s me – do you want me to be me or do you just want OP to turn into another prosaic news source like the mail?
Either people accept that’s who I am or I just won’t reply. It’s as simple as that.
Its a valid criticism Daniel you do seem to be somewhat short of patience lately, the man was asking a question nothing more.
Wonder if Mcmanaman keeps in touch ?
Is it just me but seeing Pannu really does make my blood boil !
or just me that thinks Isaac Sadiq sounds like someone with a Cornish accent discussing filacio?
– good work on keeping up on all of this Dan. – Bring on July.
look like Carson’s QC is finally hammering home the mis-justice ……..
vilers takeover in trouble……………………lets ……. all do the conga……..
Does anyone really know what’s going on? Pannu,CY and co.all have their agendas and I really do feel we are in for a few more twists. Endgame in my opinion is a bit of a fantasy -nice thought but not in my orbit at the moment.. We all want the finality but in truth we just do not know what is around the corner(as we can see by Pannu in the picture).
900 charges to be dealt with separately by Carson ,..if that’s true and that’s what he wants then let him go back to prison and come out only on days in court and then he can have his wish …..Keep right on ,and on and on and on and on and on……
We are don’t want Carson and Peter Pannu back to BCFC…Where 7 bidder interested takeover at BCFC???…Move on fashion Who takeover at BCFC because more more bring blues fans on here 25 to 28,000 fans at blues New start fashion, new name company takeover…Good Luck
As a teacher, I’m pretty good at deciphering bad English (even as a maths teacher) written by children. But I literally have no idea what you just said there.
And you obviously as a teacher would propably realise that Ian as been posting on this site for a while now and as a bit of a problem with saying what he thinks and getting is words out correctly so take notes sir! KRO
Dave, you can go and sit on the naughty step, Its “HIS words out” not “is”, Also its “Has” not “as”, Twice.
You trying to upset Neil with your disgraceful Inglash. lol
So sad !! KRO
abcd .. zxcv .. Inglash !! .. Your having a laugh mate .. Support your team more than supporting other opinions and you might get to a few games.. I will keep counting my money while you keep counting pathetic little issues of no relevance .. :-) bye !! KRO .. Spelling ok !!
Should be a ? after Inglash.
zxcv
Available for tutoring though to pay for a season ticket. Lol
Good god Dave you can`t possibly think I was serious,? lol I was joking with you in support of Ian, That’s why I purposely spelt English wrong fgs mate where`s your sense of hummer.
Ian are you Chinese? If so great. If not are you Harry Enfield or Paul Whitehouse?
Steve .. No !
That wasn’t aimed at you Dave.
Very good entertainment night chaps on top form so you are!!!
I am not sure what this episode of entertainment is. OP surely hasn’t degenerated into the type of comments we have had to read. Might as well pack it all in if this is the way forward.
Sorry Steve , cheers mate . KRO
Thanks Dan, we would be totally in the dark without you. I think you said the burden is on the defence to prove none of these transactions are money laundering. So one of them has to shown to be legit purchase or sale to discredit the charges and for the prosecution one has to have an untraceable origin or destination. Is that right?
As it stands, the defence has to prove the money is clean. That’s what is being challenged.
Neil. As a teacher I think you should have an inkling that Ian may have a learning disability.
Yup
This was sorted out ages ago, when OP asked Ian to email him. Anyone who has read the blog for a while should know that! It’s not that difficult to understand what Ian posts. I’m disappointed that in this day and age, people still feel it’s right and proper to question other people’s spelling and punctuation. Carry on posting Ian.
Mitchel to be fair to Neil he is probably a newcomer to the site and may have been unfamiliar with Ian’s style of writing, now that he has been informed of the situation I’m sure we will see more tolerance.
OOOPS Forgot an l in Mitchells name
I really didn’t intend to offend. Hope we are all good.
Either that Mitch or the rest have checked their comment 2 or 3 times just in case they have made a mistake …come on lads own up ,….I know I have twice…
Keep right on Ian your comment is very important as a bluenose …
Love the new kit!
What’s going on chaps. Not remotely interesting or relevant to the a site that we all respect and are equal in our comments.Don’t let the egos take over !
My brother is deaf and he writes like that. I understand everything ian wrote. I think its a great shame that a teacher thinks its funny to take the mickey out of someone who may have a disability. Wouldnt want you teaching my kid neil tbf. Stick to taking the mickey out the mob over in b6 not your fellow bluenose
I would be very surprised if Neil is a teacher.
I’ll second that
Calm down KC , Carson will sue Dan or the fans if we say the wrong thing , as I see it only one of the 900 accusations has to be proved or part of his time in prison is just, to stop him coming back , I know I am looking for the parting of the ways …KRO
Agree mate. Think you may have misunderstood my comment. But let’s move on KRO
me finks we wud b in da sh1t wiv out dis site init !!!!! Well done Dan i like a bit of spice on here now and then (keeps things on the edge) I think this takes the focus of TTA who should come clean, maybe start to show some sort of PR on there own behalf, help with the transaction of ownership, for the fans. Also in might help GR with attracting the right players for the future. If it ever happens????
KRO
I think you would be in it what ever site you were on Martin ….ha ha ha
Looks like Carson has a Promark suit or no Corby
