Waite trial extension denied

with thanks to Bygblueman from the BCFC Freeforums website

Ilkeston Town have refused Birmingham City permission to extend the trial of Tyrell Waite by a further two weeks.

The seventeen year old striker had been on trial with Blues’ Academy side for the past week and had played two matches but Ilkeston boss Danny Wilson wants to keep his man for the Robins’ promotion run in.

Waite has attracted the interest of several clubs and Birmingham City may well have lost their chance to take the teenager on.

The kid has to realise that Wilson is not serving his best interests and Wilson should be proud that a second tier club is interested in him. I feel for him.

I do not understand Julian’s comment? Wilson is just doing what he thinks is right for his team. How would Julian feel if it were the other way round, say Man City were sniffing round one of our best young players like Redmond? I doubt he would say that Hughton should be proud a Champions League team is interested in him!

Any news on the other trialist(s)?
