Loan signing rumour
with thanks to squatnose and valencia from smallheathalliance.com for bringing this to my attention
It looks like Blues are on the verge of making Erik Huseklepp their first loan signing of the window. The 27 year old striker currently plays for cash-strapped Portsmouth who have just entered administration.
This has been reported by Aftenpost in Norway who say that the loan could become a permanent signing in the summer.
The 6 foot 2 striker can also play on the wing, as he has done on occasion at Portsmouth this season.

He looked a real handful against us and I’ve seen him on tv a few times where he looked their best player. Will definately do a job for us.
can he play wide left,is he left footed.
I think he is. I’ll need to check though
Having watched a few youtube clips here appears to shoot predominantly with his right foot. Here seems to score a few coming in from the left though. KRO.
Looks to be real given the Pompey fans reaction!

Dog eat dog at the moment, so this is very, very shrewd bit of business. Now PP, help CH get that left side shored up!
This is the news we have been waiting for. a decent forward to help out. He looks a good player and he is good looking for the women supporters. We could do it now. Hughton forever. Birmingham City forever.
..just a shame he’ll be cup-tied!
He enjoys “lobbing” the goalie, the goals on you~tube,r/footed goals, one with his left.
Scored against forest and was bought by Cotterill, now the forest manager.
Maybe a goal against forest Saturday if he signs and plays ??
K`R`O.
Hope this one comes off !!
On Sky now,..Whoop whoop

Let’s remember how we felt after relegation and teams came and did a pick n’ mix on our players – Feel for the Pompey fans, but hey, we’ve been there too.
its all over twitter looking good and may i say i love this page i find it fantastic for all our blues news keep up great work kro xx
Whoa now fellas – good-looking? Sheesh I’m feeling sympathy for the women of Birmingham if that’s true…
On a serious point, as a Pompey fan, needs must in our situation. Let me tell you about Erik. He’s a very talented boy but is mercurial in his application. His best position is behind the striker and you need to feed him a lot of the ball. He is tall but isn’t particularly physical for a Norwegian. He can do a job wide but doesn’t always fulfil his defensive qualities. I suggest that if you use him as an impact substitute then he’ll be most effective for you.
In an idealised world, I would like to keep the lad but need must for our club that has been endangered by the behaviour of successive owners. Moving Erik out will allow a player to come in at significantly lower cost as we now have a spare place under the 20 player rule.
I wish Erik all the best and hope he inspires Birmingham to overtake our neighbours and secure an automatic promotion place. Can’t say fairer than that now.
Thanks for the input.
I have a suspicion (as yet not backed up by evidence) that Blues might (should the league sanction it) loan Pompey one of our promising kids in return – someone like Jake Jervis or Akwasi Asante. They wouldn’t be in the same quality as Huseklepp, but they would give you another body, and someone willing to play.
As I understand it, Appleton has up to four players available from contacts who would come in on loan without costing the club anything (just as West Brom have done re George Thorne). The Football League are operating their 20 player maximum during administration rule with Pompey which is fair enough as other clubs have been treated the same way. Moving Erik out leaves 19 players.
As an outsider, I’ve been very impressed with Chris Hughton’s management of your situation. You’re also being screwed over by dodgy ownership but thankfully for you, you haven’t had 6 years of it like we have. Its not a simple story re Pompey by any means but there’s an end in sight now where we put all those responsible behind us. Its just a bit more pain to go through first such as losing Erik.
JCL, Huseklep looked useful against Blues at St Andrews and will give us another option up front. We have our own financial predicament as you know but I do feel for you guys and hope you manage to survive on all fronts. We will do our utmost to keep your neighbours out of the Prem in the hope you stay up and can beat them next year.
we have just signed the pompay player all over bcfc krp x
I do feel for Pompey, we have our problems but theirs are ten fold (at the mo). Its a good signing who did well against us a few weeks ago (left sided forward/Winger) which would fit the bill. Pompey fans are dissapointed which speaks volumes
I dont like to be seen to be picking the carcus of Pompey bare, but what can you do.?…I hope they pull through as a club and Erik the viking shines for the Blues!.
KRO
Hi Almajir,
Have you seen the rumour about Andros Townsend too?
I see Erik’s confirmed now.
KRO
I have.
I didn’t run with it at first as I was unsure if it could happen and by the time it looked likely it was too late.
If we sign him I’ll do a piece on him, I highly rate him and wanted him before January
Maybe ANDROS TOWNSEND from spuds maybe on his way to BLUES.
Walked out of leeds today, reason said he didn’t like it at leeds.
Left sided winger.
Warnock’s parting shot to the player “GOOD RIDDANCE” !! LoL !!
K’R’O.
What a relief!
This looks like a good move as he was one of their better players and gives us an option up front or out wide.
There’s a story about some kid from Spurs called Andros Townsend that I’ve just read:
http://www.football365.com/championship/7539946/Townsend-cuts-short-Leeds-loan
I take it this is instead of that? Does anyone with their finger on the pulse know any better?
Nope, it’s both. And maybe Folan as well.
Arrive like thunder
Strike like lightning
Pillage and plunder
It’s Erik our Viking!
Nice to be able to add to the squad as we are going to need extra bodies on the run in. Just hope pompey survive as we know how we would feel if we didnt have our football club to support so to all the pompey fans k.r.o.
According to BBC Pompey are struggling to complete the season. If they go bust what happens? Does the football league just nullify all results versus Pompey including goals scored / conceded. I hope it doesn’t happen as Pompey fans are great fans even though the freak with the top hat is annoying.
Yes, I believe so.
I think the league will do what they can to ensure Pompey to complete their fixtures personally.
If that is the case then we are set to lose 3pts,Southampton will lose 1pt & West Ham will be deducted 6pts as they beat pompey twice, hopefully it wont come to that,it makes a mockery of the League.
As you say that would be very bad indeed.
However Portsmouth signed someone from the Albion today so I think they might be ok to get to the end of the season. Fingers crossed for them and everyone else.
I really thin its time we had a long hard look at what has happened to several clubs. Portsmouth’s recent history is an object lesson that the people who buy clubs need to be checked throroughly before doing so.
Rumours are that our debt has been reduced significantly, don’t know if it’s true? But that’s what I’ve heard, I just feel for Pompey massively! Hope they get out this mess, they have good support.
An ‘orseman with such a name should be a goalhanger who steals goals so:
Who’s a klep?
Who’s a klep?
Who’s a kleptonmaniac?
