Donny Preview
Tomorrow sees Blues make the journey north to face bottom club Doncaster Rovers as they hope to kick-start their faltering promotion campaign.
Doncaster Rovers
Donny are in a poor run of form of late which has seen them slide to the foot of the table; in their last six games they have drawn three and lost three; it’s been seven since a win and nine since a win at home. With only fifteen home goals they have the worst scoring record for a home team in the division, and have the second worst scoring record overall.
There isn’t much injury news about; from what I can gather Shelton Martis and Pascal Chimbonda will both miss this game and Dean Saunders may be pressing Habib Beye into action despite wanting to give the former Villa man a rest.
Birmingham City
Blues will be hoping that things go better for them tomorrow night having won only two in their last eight games. David Murphy returns from suspension which should mean some more balance on the left side of defence; however Jonathan Spector and Stephen Carr remain on the treatment table and thus Peter Ramage will continue to deputise in the right back slot.
There has been no news yet if Pablo Ibanez has recovered from the knock that forced him off on Saturday; or if Keith Fahey has recovered from the niggle that kept him out. Nikola Zigic may be pressing for a recall as he is the current in form striker and he may well get it at the expense of Erik Huseklepp; Andros Townsend also comes into the reckoning on the left side of midfield.
If ever there was a must-win game, it’s this one. Donny are in a slump, sliding towards the relegation trap door and aren’t very good at home. If Blues are to kick-start their promotion hopes and confirm their place in the playoffs they must win this game; anything less will see the teams around licking their lips at the thought of overtaking Blues on Saturday. I’m not predicting a result for fear of jinxing anything.
One thing to note is that this game is NOT on TV.

Aljamir,
Thanks for clearing up the TV issue. There had been a number of us who understood otherwise. in fact I think I got it from BCFC.com. I’m trying to think of there is local reason for bringing forward. Is there is a big horse race on Saturday?
donny races on the sat julian – they didn’t fancy having a few beered up brummies on the same day!
Pleased it’s not on the box as it might encourage a few more to make the trip.
KRO
Its great, I am off to the game Friday night, stopping over & off to the Spring Meeting at Doncaster Races on Saturday. The Football League could not have planned it better.
Lets just hope for a win tomorrow night followed by a few winners on Saturday!!
You can hear the commentary for this match on 1152Gold or if you are not in the area covered by this radio station,,, a link should be able to be found on “Freefootballstreaminginformatiom.com”
Alternatively, whilst you do have to pay for it I’ve found Blues Player to be excellent recently
Dont be fooled by the results donny have put in good perfomances against southampton
and crystal palace. If we can get murphy, fahey and ziggy back in the team and everyone playing well
we may have a chance.
On a different subject i agree with ch about the away kit much prefer the yellow !
Why isnt it for sale in the club shop ?
k.r.o.
I believe only a limited number were made – 1000 springs to mind.
Fingers crossed for a win.
All the more pertinent as West Ham vs Reading, Brighton vs Middlesborough, Blackpool vs Southampton and Cardiff vs Millwall are all games where our co-contenders could slip up.
Having said that, nobody’s form has been terrific of late so I don’t think this breaks our season if we don’t come away from the Keepmoat with 3 points.
Let’s just see shall we?
It doesnt matter a jot what form Doncaster are in, look what happened to Blues at Portsmouth! Its the form Blues are in that is a concern because it is poor to say the least. It is a must win game tomorrow, there is no doubt about that, whether or not we will, who knows, i certainly wouldnt put money on it!
This will be draw or a narrow defeat. Remember how the viler struggled there a few years back. By the way, wouldn’t it be great if *they* got relegated. Whatever happens to us, it would make my season. Stranger things have happened you know. Their next four games are Chelsea, Liverpool, Stoke and Manu and we know how cr*p McJudas is at staying up.
Cmon lads a win please. I’ll listen to Tom Ross tonight cos every time I listen to Blues player we play poorly.
I wish Hughton plays Huseklepp on left wing and King and Zigic up front. While I like Townsend his crossing is abysmal.
Also does anyone know how long Spector is out for. I thought he was supposed to be out for about 3 weeks.
