Update from the Sheik Hamdan Tournament
with thanks to Stuart Truslove.
Birmingham City won their third group game of the Sheik Hamdan u19 tournament in Dubai yesterday against host team Al-Wasl of Dubai.
Blues were victorious by a scoreline of three goals to one, with goals coming from Fisayo Adarabioyo, Mitch Hancox and Leon Newell. With a record of two wins and one defeat a win against Hatta Club should see them into the knockout stages of the tournament.
Adarabioyo, Hancox and Newell join Josh Hawker as equal top scorers for Blues in the tournament with two goals apiece.
The final match against Hatta Club will be played on Friday 13 April. Should Blues make it into the knockout stages, they will play in the semi final on Saturday 14 April, and either the 3/4 place match on Sunday 15 April or the Final on Monday 16 April. All these games will be played at the Al-Maktoum stadium in Dubai, home of Al-Nasr.

For a club ‘with no money’ how did we manage to fund this ‘invitation’ to participate. Not the cheapest place to stay either so we must have some affluent ‘friends’ there!
Any league tables OP
are we using this opportunity to scout young talent at this tournament.
I would imagine the Oil rich dubais are funding the whole thing
Anybody want to buy a club? maybe it’s a sales pitch?
Sheik Hamdan has paid all the expenses for the teams to be in the tournament. It is great to be able to support the boys in Royal Blue out here in Dubai. KRO. Now all we need is Sheik Hamdan to take a shine to the Blues and buy the club.
Well according to his website: “H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed has acquired from his father the love of UAE, techniques of management, arts of poetry & skills of horsemanship. He has thus become a leader, poet, rider & statesman. Events & actions tell about his genius in various fields.”
Come on then your royal highness – show some leadership and buy the club. It would be a poetic act and illustrate your techniques of management and, er, horsemanship.
Well done boys winning 6 1 to finish top of the group keep it up in tomorrow game lads
Goals from newell 2 fiz 2 jean c 1 other don’t no
Could anyone tell me if I can watch the semi final on the Internet or tv as I would love to watch my son charlee
It is supposed to be on tv, but I’m buggered if I can find it. If I find any way of watching it, I will post it up on here.
I’m told it’s on Dubai Sports tv.
I have been looking on their site but can’t see much at the moment. I’ll be at the game tomorrow so I doubt I’ll be around to post a link up but hopefully I may be able to sort one for the 3/4 place game or final (depending on if we win or lose the semi)
