Jamaica call up Marlon King
Marlon King’s goalscoring exploits haven’t gone unnoticed in the Caribbean as Jamaica’s head coach Theodore Whitmore has recalled him to the national team for the first time since 2008.
Marlon is one of fourteen overseas Jamaican players called up to play in the friendly against Guyana at Catherine Hall Stadium, Montego Bay on Friday May 18.
However, I suspect Marlon will turn down the invitation as the game is to be played the day before the playoff final at Wembley – which of course he will be hoping to play in for Blues.
King has scored 18 goals in forty-seven appearances this season for Blues.

took stick from all fans in the championship but carried on scoring we need
him next season kro
Would not be good if he decided he wanted to go and play for Jamaica….
Of course there is no guarantee that we will make the play off final,so maybe Marlon will be given the opportunity to decide on the evening of Wednesday 9th of May,as we will then know if we are in the final,or not.
Great season for Marlon but im praying he has other commitments and doesn’t get the chance to turn out for Jamaica :) I remember people complaining when he was signed due to his chequered past (people had threatened not to attend St Andrews and all sorts…..grand stupidity). I said at the time that if he banged a number of goals it would all be forgotten (indeed it has) Marlon has put in a real shift for us this year and proved an excellent edition to the team!.

Fair play Marlon! ..nice recognition from Jamaica. However, I dont think I’m the only one wishing he puts Blues before country really! ..we are right on the brink of something big right now.
There is no greater honour than getting a recognition from your country. However at Marlon’s age I’d be hoping he’d be relaxing after a long, hard season in readiness for the next.
