International Round Up
It wasn’t a great weekend for either of the Blues players involved in international football this weekend.
Marlon King made his first appearance for Jamaica in three years when he came on as a late sub in the friendly against Panama at the National Stadium in Kingston but he was powerless to prevent the Reggae Boyz from losing 1-0. With Jamaica looking toothless up front for the majority of the game the question will be if King will be picked to start in the World Cup Qualifiers next month.
Keith Fahey didn’t even get on the pitch for the Republic of Ireland in their match against Bosnia and Herzegovina after his troublesome groin injury flared up again in the pre-match warmup. Even worse is that a scan on the injury has shown that the injury is bad enough to rule him out of the Euro 2012 squad.

did you forget our Jack only warming the bench
Jack is in Mexico on holiday.
didn’t ITV show him in the stadium in Oslo?
I didn’t see him. All the recent media reports say he’s cutting his holiday short and returning this week. The commentators also talked about him being in Mexico during Saturdays match.
I’m just going by what was on my twitter timeline as I wasn’t able to watch the game but apparently the cameras showed Jack in the stands and the commentators had it wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time for ITV.
Butland wasn’t on the bench for England – you can see that here
He was on the bench but not a substitute.
According to Andy Walker, who should know these things after all, Jack is still in Mexico and is due back tomorrow.
“Due back from Mexico tomorrow and will meet up with the squad on Wednesday ahead of the Belguim game.”
I’ve also managed to get a great photo of whole bench from AP Images and it shows no sign of Jack.
From Tatts –
“He was not on the bench. He was on holiday in Mexico and is due to return this week”
Yup.
It would appear the people who commented on Butland being at Norway doesn’t know what he looks like. As I said, I didn’t see the game and was just going on what I was reading on twitter at the time.
Hopefully the boy will get a run out on Saturday which will be the first time I’ve seen him play if he does
What a shame foe Fahey, will probably ever get to play for Ireland at a major tournment now. They haven’t qualified for one in 10 years and could be 10 years before they do again. What a shame for him!
