Revealed: Name of Birmingham City Trialist
Blues included four unnamed trialists in the recent 4-2 defeat between the development squad and Wolverhampton Wanderers in addition to Lee Naylor and Darren Carter. It has emerged that one of the trialists was Corby Town skipper Paul Malone.
22-year-old Malone is a centre half and was recommended to the club due to chief scout Malcolm Crosby’s links with Corby Town manager Ian Sampson which goes back to the days they were assistant and manager respectively at Northampton Town.
However, it is my understanding that Malone is unlikely to be picked up by Blues after his trial period ends.

almajir, Do you think it is really worthwhile continuing the trialing of carter and Naylor,?.
Niether, strikes me as being worth while persuing, really,
Honest answer – if we haven’t given them a contract by now I would cut them loose. We’re not going to pick up any further idea on them from more games I wouldn’t think and I think the players should think about their careers rather than being strung along.
My feelings exactly, !!.
Thanks for the prompt reply, !!.
In all honesty Carter was always a no go for me, its like u go backwards signing him and thats showing no disrespect to the fella.
im sure what you guys are saying about daz Carter being a backward step is correct , but would like to say that i will never forget his pen against Norwich as long as i live , so hes a top man in my book
D.c..legend and all round nice bloke, but unlikely to be part of lee,s plans.
No i will never forget that pen but i will also never forget that Obafemi Martins cup final clincher either.
I would rather give Hancox a squad number and forget Naylor, I was suprised that he was not given a aquad number must mean we still hope to get the youngster from Chelsea. Carter might be worth having in the squad as backup on the left hand side.
Carts should make his way up north, he would be a star man for Glasgow Rangers, and rising through the divisions with them would make him a hero up there, a fitting finale to his career I am sure – beats warming the blues bench
I think the kid from Chelsea got injured and that has held up the loan transfer but im under the impression he will be joining Blues.
