Academy Squad Named For Dutch Tournament
Birmingham City have confirmed a seventeen man squad for the UNIVÉ Stad en Land International u19 Tournament in Zutphens, Holland.
The tournament, which will be played over August 3 – 5 features such names as Shakhtar Donetsk of the Ukraine, Mechelen of Belgium and Atalas Guadalajara of Mexico along with Dutch teams De Graafschaap, Heerenveen and Vitesse Arnhem.
The tournament is open to players born in 1994 and 1995, with three players born in 1993 allowed per squad. The matches are played in two twenty-five minute halves with penalties to decide ties in the knockout rounds and a two seven minute periods of extra time included in the final in the event of a draw.
Birmingham City will play Vitesse Arnhem this afternoon, Atlas Guadalajara tomorrow morning and Heerenveen tomorrow afternoon to decide their place in their group, with semis and the final to be played on Sunday.
The squad for the trip is:
Fisayo Adarabioyo, Bobby Moseley, Brice Ntambwe, Charlee Adams, Connal Trueman, Demarai Gray, Deqwon Ebanks, Emitt Delfouneso, James Fry, Joshua Dacres-Cogley, Josh Hawker, Mitch Hancox, Nick Townsend, Reece Brown, Reece Hales and three un-named trialists.
