Blues Finish Sixth In Holland
Birmingham City’s Academy finished sixth in the 3rd UNIVÉ Stad en Land International u19 Tournament in Holland.
Blues drew 1-1 with Vitesse Arnhem before losing 3-0 to Mexican side Atlas Guadalajara and then beating Heerenveen 1-0. However they failed to make the semi-finals of the tournament due to having a poorer goal difference than Vitesse.
Blues then went on to lose their 5th/6th place match 3-2 to KV Mechelen of Belgium. Dutch side de Graafschap won the title, beating Shakhtar Donetsk 3-2 in the Final. Roy Talsma of Vitesse was top goalscorer whilst Artem Gabelok of Shakhtar was named player of the tournament.
Full results are available here.
Currently I have no information on Blues goalscorers but as and when that becomes available along with any footage I will update this article.
