Loan Report – A Week of Debuts
It was a good week for the Blues youngsters as all three out on loan made their debuts for their new clubs.
Jake Jervis was one of the stars of the show as Carlisle United recorded their first league win of the campaign against financially stricken Portsmouth, taking fourteen minutes to find the net for the first time for the Cumbrians. Jervis rose to head home a cross from Carlisle United winger JP McGovern to give the Cumbrians the lead and judging by the match report on the News & Star website was unlucky not to add to it. It was Jervis’ third goal at League One level having scored two in five league games for Preston North End last year.
Graham Hutchison made his Lincoln City debut after Tom Miller pulled up in the warm-up with a groin strain but was powerless to prevent Lincoln losing 3-2 to Macclesfield Town at Sincil Bank. Lincoln, who have failed to win since their opening day success against Kidderminster Harriers, had previously had Hutchison on the bench as an unused sub in their previous three games.
Fraser Kerr has played twice in the last week for Motherwell, making his senior bow in the away win against Kilmarnock as a 70th minute sub before coming on as a 68th minute sub in the Well defeat at home against Levante in the Europa League qualifiers. The Fir Park outfit are struggling with injuries and Kerr could well come into the side again for the visit of St Mirren later this afternoon.
