Loan Report – A Mixed Bag
It was a bit of a mixed weekend for Blues loanees but pleasingly there was also plenty of game time for the young guns. Adam Rooney joined the ranks of loaned out Blues players this week having swapped places with Paul Caddis to take the number of Blues players on temporary transfer to four.
Rooney seems quite happy with the move to Wiltshire, despite not getting on in the 4-1 defeat to Preston at the weekend. Despite professing that Blues were a good club to be at the Irishman affirmed that he needed playing time and that he hoped his move to Paolo di Canio’s side would give him that.
Fraser Kerr played ninety minutes again for Motherwell as they thrashed Inverness Caley Thistle at Fir Park. The young Scottish defender is now settling in well with the Scottish Premier League team and the increased game time can only be good for his development. He was unlucky not to win a penalty for the Steelmen when fouled in the area in the second half, with the ref giving a corner only.
Graham Hutchison got another ninety minutes with Lincoln City in the heart of their defence and he too seems to have settled in to the team. Judging by Imps fans on their forum he had an okay game – getting scores of 6 from the fans in their match ratings. Lincoln City aren’t having the best of seasons – currently 17th in the Blue Square Bet Premier and struggling with money worries.
Jake Jervis played ninety minutes for Carlisle United in their 2-0 loss to MK Dons. Whilst he’s pictured proudly holding the shirt in the local newspaper’s match report, there isn’t much about him bar that he had a couple of chances. Jervis however did give a post match interview to the local radio station of which there is a link and a transcription here. It’s actually a decent read – you can see that he’s got his head screwed on and that he too wants to play more than anything else. With Blues down to three senior strikers I wonder if his loan will be extended or if he will be recalled as cover down here.

With the exception of Rooney, The other 3, lads seemed to be playing very well for their loan clubs,!!.
Interesting that Fraser Kerr, and Graham Hutchinson, are both Central Defenders, ?. So along with Packwood and Dearman, still at the club, it may well be that our Central defence may get soted in time from within, ?.
Jervis, I noted that even on loan at carlisle, surely he came back last week to play in our young side, and though did not score, he assisted with 2, of our goals, !!.
Any thoughts on the points I raised Almajir, ??.
Jervis didn’t come back last week – he certainly didn’t play on Monday put it that way.
I think you might have confused trialist Aaron Tumwa or maybe Akwasi Asante with Jake.
You are correct, mate, !!. It was Akwasi Assante, of course, !!.
What about my comments regarding the young cen/Defenders,!!.
I’ve not seen enough of Hutchison to comment but I suspect Fraser won’t be with Blues for a massive time longer.
Talking of loan players, Is it true that Ravel Morrison was dropped because he went out and got sloshed or is this just a nasty rumour started by somebody?
I suspect it’s a rumour…
I heard a rumour lee Clark is looking at Chris wood on loan as he’s low down the pecking order at baggies and could help us out with goals! As king isn’t playing amazing ! But isn’t it one player in one player out? If wood is coming in who is going out? Maybe Asante to a league 1 club?
