Referee Watch – Oliver Langford

Barring any late changes, Oliver Langford of the West Midlands will be in the middle for Blues’ game against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on Saturday. Here is a look at his stats.

Season Performance

So far this season Mr Langford has officiated in eight games, showing nine yellow cards and one red. Of those eight games two have been in the Championship and he has shown five yellow cards in those. Last season Mr Langford was in the middle for forty games, showing one hundred and three yellow cards and ten reds. Of those games, thirteen were in the Championship and in those games he handed out forty-one cautions and sent off four players.

Last Blues Game Refereed

Somewhat unsurprisingly for a ref from the West Midlands, Mr Langford has never officiated in a Birmingham City game before.

Last Championship Game Refereed

The last Championship game Mr Langford was in the middle for was last Saturday’s game between Derby County and Burnley which finished 2-1 to the visitors. In that game Mr Langford handed out yellow cards to Ben Mee and Chris McCann of Burnley. Mr Langford isn’t mentioned in the Derby Telegraph report or in the Lancashire Telegraph report, which I take to be a positive.
