Loan Report – On the Bench
In the ten days since the last loan report I published on this site it’s not been a great period for the Birmingham City players out on temporary transfer. One win, one start and a lot of time warming the bench has been the sum total of the last week and half and one can only hope it will get better for them.
It all started so well for Fraser Kerr. Pictured on the STV website holding the Scottish League Cup prior to the Steelmen’s visit to Ibrox and the now Third Division Rangers all the talk was how Motherwell were going to keep the Teddy Bears’ crowd quiet and win the game. Alas, it didn’t work out for them that way and despite getting ninety minutes on the pitch Fraser was unable to help prevent Rangers from winning 2-0. Motherwell then faced Celtic at the weekend and Kerr came on as a 64th minute sub with ‘Well 2-0 down and down to ten men. For the second time in a few days Motherwell went down 2-0 to an Old Firm side and they relinquished their position at the top of the Scottish League as well.
Adam Rooney’s Swindon had a mixed bag of results, beating Shrewsbury 1-0 away at the Greenhous Meadow before losing to Colchester United at home. Rooney was a sub in both games, coming on in the 62nd minute against the Shrews and having a hand in the winner, putting the ball into the box for Andy Williams to dink back and Simon Ferry to score Unfortunately, the Irishman couldn’t do it again in the game against Col U, coming on in the 67th minute with the scores level at 0-0 before the U’s scored from a free kick to win the game three minutes later. Rooney didn’t play in Swindon’s 3-1 League Cup win over Burnley due to being cup-tied having played in the debacle at Coventry in his only senior appearance for Blues this campaign and thus will not play when Swindon entertain our Claret and Blue brethren in the next round.
Graham Hutchison was an unused substitute in both the games Lincoln City played in the same period with the Imps beating Nuneaton Borough 2-1 before going down 3-0 to Conference leaders Forest Green Rovers.

Asante and Jervis both need to go out on loan as they won’t get a sniff at Blues and the article below
this makes sense, but whether it is true, is another matter.

The story that runs in the star is not news to me. Stewards at the club already spoke of player unrest at the Peterborough game.
Adam Rooney was popular and has now been sold..I hear he won’t be coming back. this is all because of my pet dislike…Lee Clark!! I find it interesting to read what I heard a few weeks ago, that the players “were not sure” about Clark. It has now turned into a war by all accounts. Feast yoour eyes on this article Almajir http://www.dailystar.co.uk/football/view/275321/Birmingham-player-revolt-sparks-Lee-Clark-crisis/
Except Adam Rooney hasn’t been sold, he’s been loaned out. There are no permanent deals in place for either Adam Rooney or Paul Caddis.
As I said below, I’d take that article with a huge dollop of salt.
Wow, how come we believe these sort of reports, when it suits. I have as much respect for the Daily Star as I do for Robert Mugabe!
there was a terrible players revolt at brighton
