A Birthday Present for Clark? Leeds Preview
Blues travel to Elland Road today looking for the win that will kickstart their season against a Leeds United side who are just outside the top six. Neil Warnock’s men were on the wrong end of a four goal salvo from Nikola Zigic in this fixture last year and will be looking for their revenge.
Leeds United
Leeds are in a good spell of form of late; unbeaten in six Championship games and have taken twelve points from a possible eighteen. They have scored in every match that they have played in this season and will be looking to add to that impressive tally against Blues.
Leeds could welcome back Rodolph Austin and Lee Peltier who both missed the midweek draw with Charlton Athletic with ankle knocks whilst Michael Tonge could also make the step up from the bench after a shoulder injury. Ryan Hall is also pushing for a debut start and Neil Warnock has admitted that he is dying to play the on-loan Southend winger.
Blues
Birmingham City have reported no new injuries from the midweek draw with Millwall and American utility player Jonathan Spector returns from suspension. One player who does miss out will be Nikola Zigic, who is completing his three match ban with this fixture and no doubt Leeds will be breathing a sigh of relief as the Serb got five goals against them in two games last year.
Clark will have to decide whether to stick with Paul Robinson out of position or to recall James Hurst or Spector to the right back berth; Chris Burke will also be pushing for a recall having been dropped against Millwall with Wade Elliott a possible casualty.
The way Blues have been playing I don’t want to predict any kind of result; having gone three down in eighteen minutes against Millwall who are in the lower reaches doesn’t bode well for a top eight side who haven’t stopped scoring this season. Blues need to be much more solid at the back from the off and Clark will have to hope that the players can give him a much-needed win as a fortieth birthday present.

Most interesting will be with whom Clark will be pairing Ravel Morrison for the defensive role in the central midfield in the starting line-up. Will it be Spector or Mullins or a new partner like Fahey or Diop? If Diop is match fit I’d like to see him play.
Put your money on a comfortable win for Leeds.
It’s pay back time.
To play Leeds United is the spesial-one I looking forward to play this season. To beat them is smach and the weekend is safe…. Kepp Right On!
is anyone else worried about a chinese consortium possibly taking over at blues
kro
I wonder what odds i can get on the goalkeeper being shoved into the back of the net by a supporter who looks like Robin van Persie ?
Lets hope that blues play like they did against brighton and nick a win,but you can’t be sure how they are going to defend at the moment. they have gone two games without defeat though!
1 – 2
