Loan Report – Goal for Rooney, Woe for Kerr and Jervis
It was another mixed week for Blues loanees with two players making appearances for their respective teams whilst one suffers with injury.
Adam Rooney scored his third goal in his thirteenth appearance in Swindon colours to complete a 4-0 rout over Stevenage. It came just a minute after his introduction in place of Miles Storey and was from his second touch; his first being to control John Bostock’s pass before finishing well past Steve Arnold. It was a markedly different performance from midweek when Rooney was subbed after fifty three minutes of only his second start largely looking anonymous against Crewe as Swindon went down 2-1.
Rooney is cup-tied for the Robin’s game against our friends from across the expressway in the League Cup and will have to watch from the stands as Paolo di Canio’s men take on a team who are enduring their worst start to the season for 43 years.
Fraser Kerr played ninety mintues for Motherwell on Friday night but won’t be happy with the nature of his performance as the Steelmen went down 4-0 to Hibs, continuing their fall back into mid-table.
Jake Jervis has been forced to watch from the sidelines at Prenton Park as an ankle injury sustained in his debut for Tranmere Rovers has ruled him out for a couple of weeks.
Graham Hutchison has been an unused sub in both of Lincoln City’s games this week; firstly as the Imps won 2-0 against Halifax Town to secure their place in the FA Cup first round proper against Walsall and then on Saturday as the Imps drew 3-3 with Stockport.
