Loan Report – An Assist for Jervis
It was a quiet week for Blues’ loanees with only one player getting any minutes on the pitch.
Jake Jervis played eighty-three minutes in Tranmere Rovers’ 1-0 away win over Oldham Athletic which sees the Prenton Park outfit extend their lead at the top of League One. Whilst Jervis didn’t score he did claim the assist for winger Adam McGurk’s matchwinner, crossing the ball for the Northern Irish man to lash home on the volley. Jervis was denied a goal himself in the first half thanks to a good save from Oldham keeper Dean Bouzanis and could have scored early on when he hit his shot wide.
Jervis has been given permission to play in Tranmere’s FA Cup match which will now be played on Tuesday after rain washed out the original game. For those interested in the youngster’s progress the match will be on ITV live.
Fraser Kerr was an unused sub in Motherwell’s 1-1 draw with Dundee United on Saturday. The young Scot is returning from a calf injury and will be looking to regain his place in the team as once again ‘Well failed to win at home as their indifferent form continues.
Adam Rooney also remained on the bench as Swindon beat Walsall 2-0 at Bescot. The Irishman watched on from the dugout as goals from Simon Ferry and Matt Ritchie won the tie for Paolo di Canio’s side. Rooney has struggled to get a first eleven berth this season and one can only think it’s slightly disheartening for him that he’s gone from scoring in the Europa League this time last season to not making the team in League One this term.
