Brief Blog Update – Carson Trial Coverage

With apologies to those who are not interested, I wanted to briefly update the blog about the upcoming Carson trial next Wednesday.

I wanted to gauge opinion on how much people wanted to know about the trial. It’s expected to last at least three weeks and I suspect there will be enough news from the trial to be able to report on it day by day.

What I would like to know is how much interest people have in the trial – is it something that people want to read about as it happens day by day or is it something where people only want to hear the big news? If there is no interest in the trial itself I don’t want to spam people with articles day by day but on the other hand I don’t want to let stuff go without being talked about if the interest is there.

Comments below or emails to the usual address will be gratefully received.

  • Chris87 says:

Keep them coming mate I found this site on my iPhone few months back and must say I’m impressed with the stuff u put on kro get Carson out

  • Atahualpa is a BlueNose says:

It would be worth knowing what is happening and whether it really was worth it all….

  • fingles says:

I think you are doing a terrific job. Use YOUR judgenet. I am very happy to go along with it. People don’t HAVE to read it.

  • Lee says:

Probably just the big news as far as I’m concerned. I get the impression proceedings move very slowly in that part of the world. So I think the trial will be littered with trivial objections and counter objections. Not something many bluenoses are going to want to read about day in day out in the next 3+ weeks. Personally i’m only interested in issues raised that effect Birmingham City and the future of the club. Thanks for considering your readers Almajir. KRO.

  • Alan Watton says:

    More info the better.

  • wooley says:

I’m only interested in weather the execute him or not ,if so I hope they show it on blues TV . I’d subscribe to it for that

    • almajir says:

No chance of that mate. Five years I think is the maximum he will get

      • skareggae72 says:

I am guessing that Carsen is pleading not guilty to all charges, although i guess we will have to wait till Wednesday morning for confirmation,he may do the opposite and go for a lighter sentance.

      • maurice walters from thailand says:

5 years only if he is found guilty AL we only want to know IF he still is the owner of our beloved blues .

  • Rob Ball says:

    Daily, if possible please.

  • chris hart says:

I think if possible it would be good to know what is happening daily. keep up the good work

  • Think of the children says:

The CY/HK updates are really interesting, my vote is for as many as poss. Personally it fascinates me.

  • skareggae72 says:

Not sure how much coverage this case will get in this country, probably little,so it would be interesting for you to feature it,although if Carsen leaves in the next week or two,my interest will wain, although it would be interesting to find out the final verdict.

  • keith says:

Yes please as much info as your time permits-I only really follow your site as even the Mail seems days behind you at best

  • BND says:

I would report anything that is pertinent to Blues.
What happens if he is not convicted?
Would he still want to off load Blues?

  • asher says:

    yh yh tell us everything

  • Scoobers says:

I agree with Keith, the truth in a timely fashion matters !

  • pedantic_pete says:

Brief daily highlights would be great, but do go into more detail if there’s stuff directly relevant to us or key revelations/developments

  • ESONEULB says:

day by day coverage would be great mate…KRO

  • John Uppal says:

I would be very interested in a day by day update on CY trail from you, as you seen to be the only one who seems to know what’s going on.

  • Oldbluenose says:

I am certain that your common sense will edit [ Dross ] so therefore I would vote for daily as you will be the only one that we can trust and rely on, !!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  • bluepete says:

Just a summary would be good enough for me. Keep up the excellent work.

  • Jessica Latham says:

A round up at the end of each days proceedings would be best.

  • Irwin says:

A day to day summary would be great. Thanks for the great work

  • AR says:

    Daily please.

  • daddyblue says:

Daily, but keep it brief because my mind wonders lately must be my age . What we talking about?

  • Art Watson says:

Headline news without the legal dross would be brilliant.

  • gibbo says:

let us know all the dirt…cheers

    • WycombeBlue says:

Gibbo – this isn’t the daily star or sun!! Typical Torquay exile – obviously Sybil is not giving you enough to do in that hotel – but like you I want to know all that is going on. You haven’t thought of putting a bid for Blues in yourself – you must be loaded by now!!

  • Atahualpa is a BlueNose says:

What are the chances they all try and strike a ‘deal’ before the trial actually starts??
But then again it looks as if someone really wants to punish CY in the HK prosecutor’s office.

His (CY) best hopes more than likely are, to try and agree to something beforehand and/or agree to pay any tax dues, otherwise he’s gonna do time and his wealth – what remains of it – will disappear overnight.

    • almajir says:

It’s difficult to say as there has been absolutely nothing reported about Carson of late. I can’t see it though because it’s my belief that they want to throw the book at Carson as a “look at this, we’re stamping down on corruption” kind of thing.

      • Atahualpa is a BlueNose says:

Yes, it does appear that CY will face the brunt of some high-placed people’s ire.

It will be interesting to know if PP, Hui, PA Chu and others will offer support or testimony in any capacity and whether CY actually ‘names names’ in court.

Do you think BCFC might play any part in the proceedings??

  • Ping Pong says:

Get on a flight and give us live as they happen updates Mayor!
Charge all expenses to the Blues Trust (They only spend money on biscuits anyway)

And take Lee Clark if you can too!

  • KRO21 says:

Would be nice to have a very brief summary of events of the day.. Even if its every other day.

This question may have been asked hundred of times before but I havent seen it.. At the end of the 3 weeks is a decision definitely going to be made, or can it be adjourned for another X amount of months?

    • almajir says:

There should hopefully be a verdict.

However, this is legal territory – no guarantees.

      • KRO21 says:

Hopefully a verdict/ the right decision is made, not just for the majority interest on here being BCFC, but for all the other stakeholders/individuals involved.

      • andy says:

After the length of time it has taken to get it to court i can see the case being adjourned many times and dragging on for quite some time.I also have this nagging fear/suspicion that blues WILL be dragged into it as originally CY did not have the money to complete the buyout, then suddenly comes back and pays more than double the going rate!!! very fishy
Just like the accounts,it dont add up.

  • Ryan says:

Day to day would be great. Only place im coming to read about the trial.

  • I.Roth says:

Would like to know all pertinent facts about trial. If he gets off will he want to sell up or invest.
It is very important to us fans. We are all desperate for the uncertainty to evolve and unravel.
We want our club back where they belong and need to know what is happening.

  • welfordblue says:

Not a regular poster but a daily viewer and would welcome any news on what is going on in this farcical situation for our beloved club. I pray that on day one you report that a bid has been accepted and we can all move on. We live in hope aye?

  • Ali Duncan says:

The more details the better (I want all the facts about how he laundered the cash – I would like panache filled tales of high jinx afternoons spent driving hired fast cars and bathing in rented roof top penthouse jacuzzis full of champagne and multiple fast women)

  • tamuffblue says:

as norm keep all info coming !!!! nice to know someone in the city as Blues at heart ( unlike Vile Mail !!!! ) and lets see the Circus pack up and trundle off to the East

  • Dave Smith says:

I would be interested to hear any news about the trial but I am really only intersted in how it affects the club. However, I don’t mean to be cynical, but I think they will not complete the trial, set another re trial date some 6 – 12 months hence, therby hanging Mr. Yeung out to dry so that all of his business interests wither and die in the meantime. The quicker we get sold to new owners who have the club’s interests truly at heart the better. KRO.

  • Baldman says:

Daily please Almajir, your’s is the only blog worth reading on the Blues, good comments and good observations. Keep up the good work (so long as you have the time though)

  • Alex T says:

Al, in your opinion, what would be the best turn out for Blues?
A.) Guilty – and CY is forced to sell
B.) innocent……. is there too much damage done already for this to be good news?

    • almajir says:

I don’t think it really matters but if he is found guilty you would think it would expedite a takeover if it’s not already in progress.

  • Terry says:

If he gets sent down, it’s Lee Clark’s fault.
If he gets off, it’s Lee Clark’s fault.
    Clark out. Mourinho in.

  • Suthie says:

Day to day as there is no harm in it. obviously the big news is more important but it would be good to see how things proceed through the day so we have a rough idea about the situation. keep it coming mate KRO SOTV.

  • Dave mann says:

keep us right upto date mate because i want to know exactly what this fraudster has been upto
because it concerns all true blue noses. kro and keep him there.

  • Tom says:

Keep em coming. I wanna know every detail

  • Mag Malik says:

    Good luck Carson

I for one hope you get off (as an englishman I presume your innocent until found guilty)

  • bluenose 11 says:

personally i would like to know every gory detail just so we have a better idea of the man
kro and keep up the good work

  • Darren says:

I love reading the stuff you post…everything for me please :)

  • James says:

More info the better; much appreciated

  • prewarblue says:

    comment edited

    • almajir says:

Doubt Hui will be anywhere near it tbh, this isn’t to do with BCFC or any alleged fiddles.

      • prewarblue says:

Blues cant be the only fiddle both and others have been involved in,,,,,,,I think the only one not to have been on the take from the start of B.I,H was Sammy Yu,,,,,,he got out as soon as he realised what was going on at B.I.H and BCFC,,,,,,the same as Dunsford did

        • almajir says:

Except Dunford didn’t quit because of that – Pannu got rid of him because he wasn’t needed.

  • AuldBlueEyes says:

Mr Mcleish to be called as a character witness….!!!
    That’d be worth reading about.
Seriously, daily updates would be very much appreciated.

  • KLB says:

Leep it coming, we can read either the headlines or your whole article depending how interested we are.

  • Pboro Bluenose says:

Keen to hear what’s going on so keep it coming mate

  • Bluenose Pete says:

We’ve waited a long time for this trial. I’ll be interested to follow its progress to whatever extent you feel is appropriate. No worries about receiving too much information.

  • Bluepenguin1976 says:

Al, I’m sure most Bluenoses want to know exactly what is going on with Carsen’s trial (the important bits at least). Keep the info flowing!.

  • Dave Hardiman says:

Given your superb coverage of all things Carson over there, the more info you can provide the better as I doubt we’ll read it elsewhere in English.

  • DoctorD says:

I would like a live ticker feed! Plus a dedicated Twitter hashtag. And daily updates. And big summaries. There could be some right good nuggets.

But how are you going to translate all those court documents? Are the proceedings online?

    • almajir says:

I’ve got some contacts I’m looking to use plus I fully expect newspapers like Oriental Daily and Sing Tao to cover the trial.

  • Maurice says:

Send as much news about Carson as you have.

  • Mark Y says:

  • Bluehobba says:

    More information the better, Cheers

  • I hope that Mr Yeung’s trial will be fair and a correct judgement therefore reached. A brief synopsis would be appreciated only in that it affects the future of the club. I pray the legal beagles don’t find some technical reason to adjourn proceedings!!!!!!

  • chudlt says:

Any news is better than none. Keep up the good work.

  • Louise says:

Every little detail please- if you have the time that is!

What else am I gonna read on my lunch break??

  • Blue Sinton says:

Keep them coming thick and fast please ! As an Ex Pat Bluenose living in Tenerife your views and posts are extremely well worth reading and thoroughly enjoyable . Thank You .

  • KentishBlue says:

I would welcome a detailed account of the trial. It may provide some clues as to what the future has in store for the Blues. It is also possible that it might shed some light on the lack of oversight by the football authorities with regard to the fit and proper test for owners. However I have a limited knowledge of the Chinese legal system (in Hong Kong) and so it is possible that we may not learn too much but here’s hoping. Please keep up the excellent work.

  • Manicmac says:

    Keep the updates comong Al.

I think there might be some interesting information about where the money in question originated from and it also might shed some light on why acy paid twice what the club was worth.

  • Paulo says:

almajir, OP seriously is the one place for news on many things that happen ‘outside’ of the pitch, and your effort in all things CY and BIHL, in my opinion, results in your site being the most informative. Put it this way, if you stopped the news feed on this right now, it would be like reaching the FA cup final ..and playing the U12’s. I think you have gained many OP regulars now, and somehow this blues site is unique – and it works, and I’m asking not to ponder on the negative bluenoses out there and keep doing what you do.
Keep us up to date, it really is appreciated. It is an obvious fact that many on here will take care of ‘those’ that dont want an education.

    • Oldbluenose says:

Paulo;, I echo your words mate,!!!.

Almajir, I think you have now recieved the answer to your question, !!!.

  • philanza says:

Every day please !!! those not interested don’t have to read, . keep up the good work yor a lifeline to HK

  • danny says:

keep up the good work report as you deem fit and thanks for your excellent articles

  • the badger says:

Until we’re rid of him we need to know all the details. Once we have new owners he can rot

  • john s says:

The more information we have about the finances of BIH the better. We do not get much information from other sources so any is welcome. Keep right on with the good work

  • suenoble says:

could be the biggest thing to happen to the Blues for years so yes please, every day, every word

  • macca salop blue says:

YOU are the oracle, keep it coming, but don’t kill yourself. People must understand you have a job and family.

  • KeepRightcroydOn says:

Yes please would be of interest to keep abreast of proceedings.

  • burntwoodbl says:

Lets just hope he,s proved innocent so that he can get back over here to sort our mess out.

  • Agent McLeish says:

    Keep the updates coming!

  • Kaje says:

It would be refreshing to hear about it daily after the relative blackout – keep those reports coming in, please!

  • boyfrom oz says:

For those of us on the other side of the world, please update daily
    Forever grateful.

  • Ben-Fre says:

What has Carson Yeung done wrong I personally like the way he run’s the club KRO

  • Grizzly says:

As previously mentioned it’s been a long and arduous wait for this case to finally get to trial. We want to know as much as possible. Then hopefully we can put Carsongate behind us.
