Referee Watch – Roger East

Barring any late changes, Roger East of Wiltshire will be in the middle for Blues’ game against Middlesbrough at St Andrews tonight. Here is a look at his stats.

Season Performance

Mr East has taken charge of twenty games so far this season and in those games he has handed out fifty-eight yellow cards and two reds. Of those games, eight have been in the Championship and they have yielded twenty-six cautions. Last season Mr East officiated in forty-five games, showing 124 yellows and 6 reds. Of those games, fifteen were in the Championship and in those games Mr East booked forty-one players and sent three off.

Last Blues Game Refereed

The last Blues game Mr East was in the middle for was the 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest on 25 February of this year. In that game Mr East booked only one player – Luke Chambers of Forest. In my match report I talked about how the ref didn’t give us anything, blowing up for any question of funny business from Blues forwards.

Last Championship Game Refereed

The last game at this level with Mr East as referee was the match between Wolves and Forest which finished 2-1 to the visitors on Saturday. In that game Mr East handed out two yellow cards, to Kevin Doyle of Wolves and Henri Lansbury of Forest. The Express and Star didn’t mention the ref but thisisnottingham.co.uk makes mention that Doyle was lucky not to be sent off.
