OP is 2 years old!
It’s difficult for me to believe it considering how much has happened of late but today marks Often Partisan’s second birthday.
In two years, OP has grown to a point where it is currently the largest unofficial Birmingham City blog, with all-time views now above 2.6million across a current readership of 30,000 people in over a hundred different countries.
It never ceases to amaze me and humble me that so many people take the time to read my thoughts and words on Blues. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart and hope that you will continue to find what I write interesting.
The next few months promise interesting times for the club and I hope that what I’ve got planned for Often Partisan will continue to help keep people entertained and informed.
Once again, thank you.

Happy birthday and well done!
Congratulations Al on a great blog, which has real insight, passion and knowledge. I think I’m right in saying that Al also writes a post at least once a day, without fail. It takes a lot of effort to do that — and to moderate all the comments to keep the discussion on an even keel.
Happy Birthday.
Top blog. I certainly enjoy reading the many varied opinions that get expressed in response to your articles. Very valuable for me personally, as I don’t come across many blue noses up here!
Here’s to the next 2 years!
Imagine if you charge a £1 fee per person for the whole year just to read this? Nothing really for the reader, but it would add up for you. You go a lot deeper and do a lot more digging than the avarage joe, so much more than your own thoughts and feelings. You give all the journo’s a run for their money. Happy Birthday and KRO!
Happy Birthday. I am a recent addition on here and I find it a place where sensible debate takes place most of the time unlike other sites.
Long may you continue to provide us lesser mortals with the information we all crave for from time to time.
So 2.6 million read Paul Carters dross?
The internet is a strange and wonderful thing…best thing ever for looking at tits though.
Oi!
Put simply, if the owners of Birmingham City Football Club had the same passion, work ethic, commitment , drive and honesty of OP, we wouldn’t be where we are now, but probably fighting for a Champions League position. Well done Dan and thanks.
You give us wonderful information, particularly on matters in HK. About yesterday’s match, I don’t think Morrison is strong enough to play in a midfield of four. He needs the addition of a 5th midfielder to allow him to go forward. No Fahey so why not play Reilly in a five; it had been pretty successful for us previously. But I think the manager felt he should play 2 upfront at home. Thomas isn’t a natural goalscorer as Glenn Hoddle might have said.
I have to comment on this because I love this site and the sensible blogs that you post.
well done and keep it going matey.
Well done Dan, keep up the good work!
Happy Birthday. KRO.
Clear, concise and educated opinions are always valued no matter what the Blues subject matter the daily blog is about.
Your dedication and zeal to keep this up is most admirable and as I’m London based keeps me up to date with fans views (other than on match day) as I’m not in a Birmingham based work place / pubs on a daily basis.
I can only imagine how much of a lifeline it is for ex-pats scattered across the globe and it really is a Bluenose bible for so many of us.
Props as well to all the posters on here too as without us, IMO, the blog just wouldn’t work – we may have our differences of opinion at times and often things can get heated but we’re all united in our love of Birmingham City and it’s a lot of fun interacting with so many of you
Happy birthday to OP.
Congratulations and well done to you almajir – you’ve got a greater “following” than most teams!
Looking forward to your thoughts and blogs in the coming weeks and months on where our beloved BCFC will/might be going.
Onwards and upwards!
Almajir;, Congratulations on your [ our’s ] 2nd Birthday, !!. It is fervently hoped that you are around for years to come, matey, !!.
You dig deep for pertinent news and views, concerning Blues, and without any doubt, This blog is the ONLY one that is well worth reading, !!.
Here’s to better days ahead for all of us,, !!!!!!!!!!.
A.J for once I can agree with this old git [ private joke A.J ],,,,,he may be past his sell by date,,,,,rarely sends a new funny [ often repeats them though ] but this he has got right,,,,,congratulations,,,,,long may you continue [ even if your opinions are at times mistaken by difering from mine !! ]
prewar;, Thank you for your long-awaited, acceptance, lol, !!.
Well done on your 2nd birthday, keep it going.
As others have said your comments are always fair, you don’t resort to insults and you provide a forum for sensible comments to be made.
Let’s hope we see an upturn in Blues fortunes in the near future.
One of the best sources of information, facts, figures and opinions on Blues, Opps! sorry I should say the best. Fantastic blog has kept me informed & entertained while I have gone through chemo and radiotherapy. Keep it up mate ^_^
sotv
Congratulations!!
I thought you had been going much longer than this.
It seems so.
This is usually the first site I visit from my daily “news now” BCFC link.
I think we all really appreaciate the time and effort you put in to this blog.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY – KRO
Well Done and may you keep going for years to come! KRO
Well done! I must say that I’ve been reading for a year. I think the reason why so many people read and come back is down to the unpredjudiced facts that you provide.
Thank you for being the eyes and ears of the fans.
Congratulations Al..
Al,May I just say on here that I have never posted on Tatt’s Tuesday Forum… ;-)
Without a doubt you are the best blog mate stick the rest because you are the best happy birthday. Inclarkwetrust…….
happy birthday and keep right on
fellow kingshurst lad done good!
respect.
Well done Dan, keep up the fantastic work. 30,000 readers is awesome. Why not offer someone like Hollywood Monster a free commission based link to raise funds for the site? Keep right on….
There is a sponsorship page for interested businesses and individuals
Well done on your 2nd birthday!! Must say this blog is sooo much more honest & informative than any of the daily rags. KRO
Cracking blog. Great articles and it’s nice to read about our beloved team from a proper bluenose.
Happy 2nd Birthday
:-)
Well Done.
Keep It Going.
Happy Birthday.
:-)
Best Blues site on the net, keep up the good work Almajir.
Keep up the excellent work! I notice many of your posts are in the early hours so… Just watch you get enough sleep!! The best source of Blues news and always balanced and fair… Good job done!
Well done almajir and congratulations. Excellent achievement on two years and the growth of your site. It is really something to make the time to be a fellow contributor to OP, but being a blues fan & season ticket holder ..OP is definitely the first place for debate and researched news concerning Birmingham City.
I wouldn’t say it was the best Blues blog on the web
But its in the top one !
You could double the traffic through here if you stopped deleting or editing half my posts :)
Congrats.
Keep deleting Dan and many congratulations.
A fantastic blog /well done.
Congrats from San Francisco. I read OP posts on the train to work every morning. Keep right on.
I’m reading OP in New York and its bloody freezing.
Here’s to the next two year’s.and let’s hope it’s better times for our club.
Well Done Al,love reading OP on my scratcher in the digs while I’m working away,KRO Mucker
This is a great blog. Well done. I recall another good site ‘Tired and Weary’, I think, which ran through the early 2000s up to 2005. Then there was 606 which got “coalitioned” in 2010, and then there was the Evening Mail which got all libel-scared in 2011.
Funny season. Most years 52 points would see us safe from the drop. We went down with 52 under Barry Fry but that was the season when four went down. I think another win and a draw should see us safe and I’ll go for tenth. But heaven help us next season with all the outgoings (Davies, Burke, Butland, King, Ferguson, Morrison).
Good point, some decent ones have fallen by the wayside. I really enjoyed 606 as some good people on there. That said it was too ease for sadly little WUMs and it did get a bit tiresome.
Tired and weary is still there on http://www.tiredandweary.co.uk/
Happy Birthday!! You have been the number one source of up to date Blues news these last two years, so keep up the good work mate. KRO
Keep going dude. Great Blog. Am sure at some stage the advertising will start to roll in.
GBS
Happy birthday and congratulations OP.it really is the only place to get information that is concise and accurate about Blues.
It really must be a labour of love, and involve a lot of effort on you part alamjir, I for one am grateful for all the digging you do, heres to the next 5 years.
Happy Birthday OP. Very good info you give us.
Happy Birthday! I read your blogs everyday, though seldom comment, I’m not a twitterer or on Facebook, I just observe in the background. What amazes me is the trouble you seem to go to in order to keep us informed, it must take up a massive amount of your time. I’m truly grateful to you. Thanks.
This blog is a real pleasure to read.
Happy Birthday OP and thanks to Dan for all of your hard work. Without it none of us would be as well informed (or opinionated!) about our beloved Blues as we are.
KRO!!!!
Hi young man. We occasionally crossed swords but no matter. OP is the first thing I read each day and the intelligent debate it generates makes it so interesting. Well done and thank you.
Keep right on you put the professionals to shame, thanks
Many thanks for your efforts. Long may they continue. KRO
Congratulations, and good luck as you enter the terrible twos! You”ve made my move to Myanmar (Burma in old money) much easier, knowing that I’m always kept informed. Look us up if you’re ever out this way.
This is not just the best Blues site, it must rank as one of the best football blogs. I hope recognition comes your way.
By the way, any other Bluenoses in Myanmar? I’m thinking of starting an official fan club. If not, it may just be me and my daughter, who will be born in the next few days.
Chris, wishing you all the best for a quick and full recovery.
Happy Birthday Often. I don’t know what we would all do with you! :) many thanks go to you Almajir I think on this rare occasion I can speak for everyone on here and thank you for this wonderful site and the brilliant job you do and long may it continue
Well done and Happy Birthday. Please keep up the good work of keeping us informed
Happy Birthday OP – I’ve gone from Teamtalk to the Mail.net but without doubt if you want to know what’s going on with the Blues both off and on the pitch this is the best site! Keep it up and keep right on
Happy Birthday
As a fellow blogger, I really appreciate and respect what you’ve done over the last couple of years. When it comes to the ownership issue – you’re doing a job that sadly our mainstream local media struggle to do. For that reason I hope you keep up the good work.
Happy birthday, OP!
This is easily the best source of information re the Blues.
Many years ago, I was a “home and away” fan of the Blues but now I live in Australia so I don’t get to any matches. But through OP, I feel really up to date with what’s going on. Thanks very much for a great service!
