Referee Watch – Simon Hooper
Barring any late changes, Simon Hooper will be in the middle for Blues’ Championship game against Brighton and Hove Albion at St Andrews this afternoon. Here is a look at his stats.
Season Performance
This match will be Mr Hooper’s first game of the 2013/14 season. Last season, he refereed in forty games, showing one hundred and nine yellow cards and five reds. Of those, nineteen were in the Championship and they yielded sixty-four cautions and three sendings off.
Last Blues Game Refereed
The last Blues game Mr Hooper was in charge of was the 1-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday April 20. On that day Mr Hooper kept his cards in his pocket and didn’t merit a mention in my match reflections.
Last Championship Game Refereed
The last Championship game Mr Hooper was in charge of was the match on the final day of last season between Brighton and Wolves which saw the home side win 1-0. That day he only booked one player – Roger Johnson of Wolves.

Roger Johnson – how an opinion of a player can change so much
Don’t want to sound to pedantic but Brighton won 2-0 against the Dogheads to send them lot down last season.
lets hope he keep them in his pocket today, and a blues home win…………………
Poor old Roger couldnt happen to a nicer bloke lol
