Europa League
Off To Partizan – the NK Maribor Preview
On September 29th, Birmingham City travel to their first away fixture of the Group Stage of the Europa League. With this in mind, I’ve put this article together to help people who want to travel and to give a little more information on our opponents.

NK Maribor Day Trip
From reading the various messageboards, it seems obvious that the most difficult game for Blues fans to get to is NK Maribor, on the 29th September. With flights to Graz, Vienna and even Zagreb being snapped up, it’s getting increasingly harder to get to the Slovene club and for many, the price is prohibitive.

Off to Partizan – The Europa League Group Stage Draw
After last night’s magnificent win over CD Nacional of Portugal, I’m guessing most blues fans who were able were watching or listening to the Europa League draw in Monaco today. As you may well know, Blues have drawn SC Braga of Portugal, Club Brugge of Belgium and NK Maribor of Slovenia as their opponents in the Group stages of the Europa League.

Ticket to Ride? The problems with Europa ticketing…
When the official BCFC twitter feed announced this afternoon that there were 200 tickets on general sale for the away leg of the UEFA Europa League playoff round tie against CD Nacional, I was surprised. When we pulled Nacional out of the hat, it was almost immediately confirmed Blues would be lucky to get more than 250 tickets for the match as Nacional’s ground holds barely 5,500 fans. Having cogitated about it tonight, I’m not so surprised.

Off To Partizan VIII
As a distraction from the current mire surrounding Birmingham City, I thought I’d take another look at potential European opponents, and so here is the latest in the Off to Partizan series. In this article, I’ve looked at three teams who have already qualified for our round who are going to be unseeded, and thus are very much potential opponents.

Everything you wanted to know about the Europa League but were afraid to ask
Just over fifty days from now, Birmingham City will make their debuts in the Europa League in it’s present incarnation. As with anything in football, there is a raft of rules, dates and whatnot to take in, and it can be hard to keep up. In this post, I hope to answer the bulk of questions that you might have and give you an idea of how it will work.

Why the Europa League isn’t just a distraction
As Chris Hughton has started to get himself comfy in the St Andrews hotseat, the press have been grilling him about his targets for next season, and it’s basically come down to one thing: Promotion. Even the Europa League is secondary to getting us back up. As much as I agree that financially we need to be top flight, I think Mr Hughton needs to think carefully about Europe.
