The Search Begins

Well, it’s now confirmed, we’re managerless. I will admit to being in denial right up until the time that Blues confirmed a compensation package had been agreed, hoping that maybe Hughton would have a change of heart. Alas, it was not to be, and now we must move on.

Hughton and Norwich

This time ten years ago Blues were looking forwards to their debut season in the Premier League having beaten Norwich City on penalties in the playoff final. Fast forward to now and it’s Norwich City in the Premier League – and it looks like they’re taking our manager from us.

Summer Jigsaw Falling Into Place

After a few days of feeling a bit glum about things at Blues yesterday cheered me up no end. The dreaded approach came from WBA for Chris Hughton and after Peter Pannu told them it would cost them £2million for his services they decided to look elsewhere. All in all, a good result.

The Sun and the Star went with near identical stories naming Hughton as the number one candidate to take on the hotseat at the Hawthorns due to the continuing financial uncertainties at St Andrews.

Pride, Passion and the Right Mentality

So here we are. The first of two, possibly three games that will govern which division Blues will play in next season and may well decide the future path of the club for the next few years. A lot has been talked about – tactics, players, and momentum to name but three and I don’t really want to rehash that sort of thing again. Instead, I wanted to jot down my thoughts about it all.

Keeping Hughton

It’s emerged that the contrary to what most of the London-based media would have had you believing over the last few months, WBA manager Roy Hodgson is likely to take over the England manager job. If that happens, it will mean the Baggies will be on the lookout for a new manager, and Hughton has quickly become a favourite amongst their fans as the man to take over.

Blackpool Bound

As the month of April draws to a close so to does the Championship season with all that is left to be decided being the playoffs. It’s the business end of the season as far as Blues concerned with the prize being a trip to Wembley, a day of emotion and hope and for the winners, a hefty wad of money from Premier League participation next year. Will Blues do it?
