Referee Watch – Roger East

Barring any late changes, Roger East of Wiltshire will be in the middle for Blues’ Championship game against Derby County at Pride Park today. Here is a look at his stats.

Season Performance

Mr East has taken charge of seven games so far this season, showing a grand total of eighteen yellow cards in those matches. Of those, two have been in the Championship and in those fixtures Mr East has handed out five bookings. Last season he took charge of forty-four games, showing one hundred and forty-seven yellow cards and six reds; of those games seventeen were in the Championship and in those games he handed out sixty-two cautions.

Last Blues Game Refereed

The last Blues match Mr East took charge of was the 3-2 home win over Middlesbrough last November. In that game Mr East gave out two yellow cards – to Paul Robinson of Blues and to Andrew Halliday of Boro and his performance didn’t merit a comment in my match report.

Last Championship Game Refereed

The last game in this division that Mr East officiated in was Doncaster’s home defeat to Burnley at the start of October. In that game Mr East handed out three yellow cards to James Coppinger and Federico Macheda of Doncaster Rovers and to Jason Shackell of Burnley.

Suspension Watch

5 yellow cards – Paul Robinson (one match suspension served)
3 yellow cards – Neal Eardley, Dan Burn and Jonathan Spector
2 yellow cards – Tom Adeyemi, Kyle Bartley, and Shane Ferguson
1 yellow card –   Darren Ambrose, Lee Novak, Koby Arthur, Wade Elliott,  Jesse Lingard, Matt Green, Nikola Zigic, Colin Doyle, David Murphy and Andrew Shinnie

The “cut-off” point where a fifth yellow card will no longer attract a suspension is after December 31 2013 and the point where a tenth yellow card will no longer attract a suspension is after April 13 2014.
