Lee Clark Linked With Newcastle Job

with thanks to those on twitter who alerted me to this story

Reports in Australia suggest that Blues manager Lee Clark is to be interviewed for the manager’s position at Australian A-League side Newcastle Jets.

The Australian reports that Clark has emerged for the position after the Jets ended their chase for former Central Coast Mariners boss Graham Arnold. The Jets are currently coached by interim head coach Clayton Zane, who took the job in January after Gary van Egmond left by mutual consent.

The Jets, who boast former Blues striker Emile Heskey amongst their playing staff finished the 2013/14 A-League season in 7th place, 2 points outside of a place in the A-League Finals series.

Start the car/plane/boat we’re taking him home.

  • fingles says:

    How soon can he go?

  • Tony Dickinson says:

You tease! Making us think he was leaving us for the Toon and the Premier League!

  • Dave Shaw says:

That fits into the rumour that he’s taken his kids out of school and given notice on his rented house……

  • Tony says:

Please take him, life in the upside down world will suit him just fine.

  • Agent McLeish says:

People may well slag off LC but it’s my opinion that any manager would struggle given the way our club has been pillaged by the current owners. Under the current owners it is really academic who is the club manager as they’ll struggle. Good luck to LC if this is true, I’d swap working for Carson the crook and Peter Pan for a stint in Australia anyday.

Totally agree. Personally I don’t rate Clark as a manager but he has had a very tough task. However,I have no doubts somebody else could have had us avoid the position we are in!!….In my opinion the club need’s a new start, so I would be happy to see him go to Oz and who would blame him (or us) for wanting to see the back of each other.

There is an guardian angel after all, best news all week. All we need to hear now is Bolton 0 Birmingham City 0; Leicester City 1 Doncaster Rovers 0
    KRO+DNM

  • Asif says:

Hopefully leaves as soon as!!!! Granted its been hard with loanees and no money but there are other managers who do the same. Dyche didnt have money to spend but he stayed true to his principles of playing a certain way and tactic

  • Blueboy88 says:

I wont believe it until there’s a picture of him on the Newcastle Jets Kop holding a scarf..

  • Mr Crosby says:

He doesn’t quit, he’s not a quitter. He said so….

  • lee armstrong says:

From 3 bluenoses now living in Newcastle, Australia… I hope it’s just a rumour!!!
I’m depressed enough with the state of blues I can’t handle home looking after my other club too!!!

  • Rob78 says:

He will take them Down Under too!!

  • chudlt says:

At least he will get some cash to spend.

  • ijaz hussain says:

I wouldn’t trust him with adding another shrimp to the barbie.

  • Art says:

His upside down tactics will go down well with the Aussies.

Can’t think of a worst manager in my 60 years supporting the club.

  • parchy99 says:

I will pay for his airfare…….

    and do the giftwrapping……

What about his managerial record makes them want him?

    Bizarre

  • Shirley Blue says:

He is so thick he will probably get on a plane to Austria. I usually advise people to be themselves in interviews but in this case not. Says it all he has to go all that way to get another managerial job. He knows he is finished in England after what he has done to us this season. Good riddance.

  • Martin Grainger says:

so Clark’s agent is letting other clubs know he’s available?
with player transfers that’s the case half the time.

  • Shirley Blue says:

    Team tomorrow should be:-

    Randolph
    Caddis
    Martin
    Robinson
    Hancox

    Spector
    Adeyami
    Hews

    Marcheda
    Zigic
    Novak

Physically the strongest team we can put out. Spector sits in front of the back 4 and slots in when the full backs get forward. Get the ball in early to Zigic. Don’t try and out football them because we will lose.

  • Griff says:

Ta ra then Geordie boy.. To be honest I wish him all the best. He’s a passionate bloke who means well and I’m sure he tries his best. Fact is though that he’s crap at his job! I wouldn’t want the bloke to manage my sons under 11’s team personally but if someone wants to take him from us that’s a result! For me he goes down as the worst manager in the clubs history! It’ll be like having a malignant mole cut out. Oh aye, God bless the 3800 making the unwinnable trip to Bolton. Please don’t expect any miracles, there won’t be any. I predict a 4-0 defeat tomorrow, providing they take pity on us in the second half and take their foot of the gas………

how silly and pants are these comments methink some on here need a brain….
Clark you have done tremendous well under extreme circumstances, i for one would want you to stay and fight and turn this horrible season around next season.
what ever yours thoughts after the bolton game keep the faith….

  • mark says:

today is the day the players show there faith in manager and the supporters of bcfc

  • mark says:

my final question unless Clark makes this decision after the Bolton fair play to him, he will not let anything distract from today game…..what a leader…kro

  • mark says:

what a bunch of whinging comments from the less savvy side of brum
