Blues Ladies v Chelsea Ladies Preview
Blues Ladies take on league leaders Chelsea Ladies today as Dave Parker’s charges look for their first league win of the campaign.
Chelsea Ladies
Emma Hayes’ charges come into this game on the back of three straight wins in the league and lead the FA WSL by two points. Indeed, they have won all five games they have played this season scoring 15 goals and they will be a tough proposition today.
Former Blues Ladies player Eni Aluko (sister of former Blues player Sone Aluko) scored their only goal in last week’s 1-0 win over Liverpool LFC and she’ll be looking to get on the scoresheet again today.
Blues Ladies
It’s been a tough start to the season for Blues Ladies, but they will be boosted today by the return of Freda Ayisi after her 3 match suspension. Kirsty Linnett could return after an ankle knock while Jade Moore might be back after her shin injury. Alex Windell went off injured in the last game and there is a question if she will be fit enough; Emily Simpkins was a more than able deputy last week and surely will be ready to step in again if needed.
The question would be who to drop, however. Coral-Jade Haines was player of the match last game for her contribution in midfield; Mel Lawley might be short on goals but she’s been working hard to create chances and Emily Westwood has been solid pushed forward too.
As always, the Hollywood Monster Hub will be at the ground offering face-painting for the kids along with a live band before the game.
Kick off is at 2pm with tickets priced at £7 for adults and £6 for concessions.

It is going to be hard this season by the look of it. Deserved a draw today but lost as a result of our keeper being clearly fouled and held down for the Chelsea goal. Good to see Karen and Kirsty get some minutes in. I’m sure that the Team will benefit greatly when they achieve full match fitness.
