Blues Ladies exit cup on penalties
Birmingham City Ladies exited the SSE Women’s FA Cup at the first hurdle on Sunday having lost 5-3 on penalties to Arsenal. Charlie Wellings who came on as a 119th minute sub was in tears after hitting the post with her penalty which was the only miss in the shootout.

Signings, goals and non-announcements
Birmingham City have confirmed the signing of Jon Toral on a season-long loan from Arsenal today. The 20-year-old midfielder scored six times on loan for Brentford in the Championship last season, making 34 appearances.

Blues Ladies Earn Point In Feisty Draw
Birmingham City Ladies managed to hold WSL rich kids Manchester City Women to a goalless draw despite playing the second half with 10 players. Blues striker Freda Ayisi was shown a straight red card in first half injury time for punching keeper Karen Bardsley in a tussle before a corner was taken.

Blues Ladies Hold Tyreso 0-0
Blues Ladies held Swedish team Tyreso FF to a creditable goalless draw in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Semi Final first leg. The Swedes started as favourites but couldn’t break down a determined Blues side that could have even nicked it at the end.

Blues Ladies Win Champions League QF
Birmingham City Ladies qualified for semi-finals of the UEFAWomen’s Champions League yesterday after beating Arsenal 2-0 at the Hive to win the tie 3-0 on aggregate. Goals from Kirsty Linnett and Remi Allen in the first half ensured the win and Blues will now face Tyreso FF of Sweden in the semis.
