Donaldson Scores in Surprise Jamaica Win
Clayton Donaldson was on the scoresheet as Jamaica surprised Chile 2-1 in their Copa America Centenario warmup game in Vina del Mar. The Bradford-born striker scored the first goal of the game from a Garath McLeary cross as the Reggae Boyz stunned the Copa America holders.
Chile vs Jamaica 1-2 All Goals & Highlights HD…
As goals go, it wasn’t a great one to concede; Donaldson was given enough time to control the ball and stab it past the Chile keeper with the defence nowhere near him in the area.
It marked Donaldson’s second international goal for Jamaica and will be a boost for the Bradford-born striker prior to Jamaica’s first game in the tournament against Venezuela on June 5.
With Donaldson away with Jamaica now for a few weeks and Nicolai Brock-Madsen heading to Rio to play in the Olympics for Denmark it’ll be interesting to see who Blues play up front in their pre-season and whether the international callups will have a major effect on the team come the start of the new season. Gary Rowett has made mention that he wants to bring in a new striker; it’s eminently possible that new player could start in the first XI come August even if Donaldson comes through unscathed as he will probably start pre-season later than the other players due to needing a break from football.

We are going to need a striker to start on August 6th so get your skates on Gary and get one signed up who warrants playing in the first team .. Well done to Donaldson and let’s hope the Brock as a good olympics also but let’s get these players in and starting pre season and give us something to look forward to . KRO
Bradshaw £75k no brainer.
750k* sorry
I think he’ll go for more than that.
Dave. I just wonder what is really going on at Blues. If TTA have got our new owners lined up it is quite likely that any funds will now come from the new people. If not, then we carry on with TTA bailing us out. My own feeling is that new owners are already in place. If I am right your request for a new striker could come in Bradshaw at £750k. If he slips through at this price then it tells us a lot as Villa and Wolves would certainly take a punt at this price.
We’ll have to take our place in the queue for Bradshaw who has already been ruled out of playing for Wales in the Euros through injury.
At that price he will be an asset who ever signs him , and they can always sell later , so what is the hold up ..
Has anyone heard the rumour regarding a Bruce/Giggs managerial partnership at a Midlands club?
I think it came from up north yesterday with Giggs unsure ot Man.Utd future and Bruce possibly looking for new challenge. Nice partnership if I am honest.
Interesting Mitch? Guess its now bets on who it could be?
Let me guess ?? … No God please not !! KRO
Yes Dave that would be a cruel blow-however what if it turns out to be us.?
I would be ecstatic to say the least Mitchell but wages ?? .. I don’t think so ! KRO
Depends on how Hull get on later. Cannot see Brucie staying at Hull if they fail. Need to get Staffs water feeling on this?
There are a number of Championship teams looking for managers atm. Would he risk the goodwill of Blues fans by taking over the witton swamp ducks? I suppose it depends how much they’re offering and what transfer funds he’d have. I’d like to think he wouldn’t, but money talks.
With the state of England’s defence Brucie should bring his boots
The forwards aren’t t bad though ! KRO
Well Brucie Loves the city ,but what about giggsy ……. KRO
He loves United of manchester and Salford ! KRO
Bradshaw at around 1 Million would be excellent business for Birmingham, not sure what funds are being made available but these potential new owners/owner need to speculate if Blues are to push on next season and we do not need a fortune to spend either
I would say we’d have to £8m+
Two full back £1m ea
Centre half £2m+
Midfield General £2m+
Striker £2m+
Pay less than that the quality won’t be there
Ross mccormack cost 12 million. We cannot compete so we’re going to have to try frees
You don’t know that so please stop stating fiction and work on facts .. Rediculous assessment . KRO
Well said young dave.
I’d be (pleasantly) surprised if he has more than £2m to spend.
I would be massively disappointed with only 2 million. on a team that needs at least 4 or more decent players in vital areas. How on earth anyone can be pleasantly surprised with that amount is beyond my comprehension. Have you forgot we sold Dimi Grey . and it was said even back then that money would be saved to spend in the summer when we would get better players, 2 Million for a promotion push, your having a laugh,
2 million .wow . KRO
Don’t forget, you have to include wages, fees etc.
Yes, obviously.
The way I see it is that GR may wait to the end of the season to try and catch a £ 20,000 a week player for a lot less , but the law of sods say that ya ain’t always gonna get £20,000 worth of effort …KRO
Wow .
We certainly need a left footed winger???? Look no further than Sone Aluko our Birmingham bred, former youth player, who is still only 27!
He’s not good enough .. How many times do I go over this !KRO
Dave…That’s your opinion, which is not definitive.
Yes it is .
Lol Dave I like your style
We have the ideal left winger in house. Strong,Pacy, tricky and can shoot. GR needs to train VS0 24/7 and make him number one. Nobody I can think of could tie his laces.
I hope the likes of Denny Johnstone and Arthur are given a chance with the lack of forward options. Has Brown signed the contract we offered him.
VSO is a great prospect but needs a bit more training on finishing ,heading accuracy, and passing , We need more goals now, aluka averages a goal every 6 games and lacks aggression but is a skillful player , jury’s out on that one .VSO should finish quite a few games this season ,
A good prospect and might finish a few games next season .
I reckon you ought to play on the left Dave as you seem to be dribbling on a bit
I liked to play on the right wing William and get the crosses in like staffs asks of a wide player , I like to dribble now and again but that’s just my nature . KRO
well done Donaldson
Right answer Dave mate …..KRO
It’s all in good jest hey mate . :-) KRO
Good ole clayts his second touch was so nearly a tackle
