Referee Watch – Nigel Miller
Barring any late changes, Nigel Miller of County Durham will be in the middle for Blues’ game against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday. Here is a look at his stats.
Season Performance
Nigel Miller has refereed thirty-eight games this season, handing out ninety-two cautions and sending three players off. Of those 38 games, thirteen were in the Championship and in those games he has handed out twenty-seven yellow cards and one red card. The solitary red card he has shown in the Championship was to Neil Danns for a reckless tackle which both the Leicester and Hull press seem to have agreed with.
Last Blues match refereed
The last Blues game Mr Miller was in charge of was the 2-1 win over Doncaster in December. I didn’t really mention Mr Miller in my match report but in Tatts’ match ratings he only merited a 5 as he “Missed too much, including obvious handball for Blues penalty.”
Last Championship match refereed
The last match Mr Miller refereed in the Championship was the Doncaster v Burnley game at the Keepmoat on Bank Holiday Monday, where he showed three yellow cards. There was no comments on his refereeing in either the Doncaster or Burnley press and no arguments over the penalty that was awarded – which I consider to be a positive sign.

Let’s hope he has an over night stay as that is a long way to travel to ref a game!
