Director Appointment for BIH
Birmingham International Holdings has announced today the appointment of 33-year-old Carson Wong to its board as an independent non-executive director.
Mr Wong Ka Chun (to use his full Chinese name) is an executive director of a company called iMerchants and has been an independent non-executive director of SMI Publishing – otherwise known as Sing Pao Media, of which Carson Yeung is also the largest shareholder.
As an appointment this is important as now the Audit committee of BIHL is up to its required three members and BIH meets best practice standards in having three independent non-executive directors.

Surely not the Mr Wong Ka Chun banned from the Securities and Futures Commission? Or just a coincidence?
You got a link for that?

Many thanks
He’s a wongun
Could this be the reason behind the ” non publishing ” of BIH, accounts, as of yet,?.
I,E. That they did not have the required quarum,!!. If so — They can now be published soon, or am I reading too much into this statement,???.
I doubt it, but it’s much better they have the required amount now on the audit committee.
Isn’t one “wrong” Carson enough?
When will we see a “right” one?
There’s 7 Wong Ka Chuns on Linkedin. I wonder if it’s one of those.

Alternatively there’s 18 Carson Wongs.

Where’s your sense of humour mate! I was actually a blues fan with a smile on his face!
Sorry, but I have to be careful
Have you been able to confirm its the same guy who got life ban
It’s doubtful, it is a common name
Agreed! Also the incident happened from 2004. Which would have made him approx 25 years old at the time, which is pretty young to have a Type 1 SFO licence. Apologies Carson. (Although nothing would surprise me with the BIHL Board)
I believe there are only 100 surnames in Chineses languages, of which “Wong” is therefore more common than “Smith”. Let’s hope he’s not the one who’s banned from the SF.
According to this page, you’re out by 4100. But yes, Wong is one of, if not the most common.
apparently every 4th person born is Chinese, that’s why I stopped at 3 kids
Who the hell cares who joins BIHL? Wong, Wing, Wang. who cares? The whole set up is a mess and a big burden on Birmingham City.
Evidently some do Andy cos it’s all over the messageboards and people are clearly reading this article.
Talking of director’s, does anyone remember this famous quote from David Gold?
“Would the fans ever have forgiven us for turning away a billionaire benefactor?”
If it wasnt so tragic it would be hilarious!
Is this the same david gold who sold us out to this chinese madmann and now wants to nick redmond for £1million? What an insult!
looking at his details on Bloomberg Businessweek he seems to stack up. No mention of previous issues, would seem legit. Seems he is alright no Wong. KRO
Sigh at the casual racism here and elsewhere relating to the Blues. Let’s grow up, yeah..?
:-)
Thanks Peckham.
Every time I see a chinese ‘name’ joke, or pun, I can’t help but shudder.
This level of ‘sophistication’ really makes blues’ fans seem like neanderthals—and they each think they’re being original. They’re first person to make such a witticism.
I know almajir bends over backwards to allow a free discourse – he only, very rarely edits.
But that’s mainlyto do with bad language I think. How about semi-racist comments al?
………..
Back on topic.
Do people seriously think that BIHL would appoint a ‘struck-off’ director?
How could they FGS.?
A person banned is a person banned.
“Nothing would surprise me at BIHL” —obviously that’s the cop out from people who engage their keyboards before their brain.
Thanks Al…I know we do’;t see eye to eye,on everything, but you KNOW I regard you with high respect mate.
As I’ve said many times before, and never got a smiley
:-)
Letsby
I fully understand what you’re saying – I don’t find that stuff funny either. I have deleted one or two comments and I try to be careful what I let through. It’s not always possible because I have other things to do than this website (strange as it may seem) and I’m literally getting 200+ emails a day at the mo. If you see something that is bad and I have missed it, please let me know via email and I’ll delete it. I am thinking about a report button.
And thanks for your support. As you may know, I don’t do smileys as a rule.
;)
So very well put letsby Ave. Im tired of these Chubby brown fan types too. News flash Chubby brown aint funny and neither are they. Glad at last people taking a stand
Well said Peckham. been tired of it myself for a long time. Chinese laundry jokes went out in the 70s but i wish these small minded ignoramuses would hush up and just listen to there Chubby Brown crap quietly.
Racist comments – thanks Peckham, Letsby and Almajir for dealing with this.
KRO.
The queries related to the Xtep deal, the accounting treatment and details of an unannounced “counter sponsorship” arrangement between BIHL and the sponsor as personally handled by Mr Vico Hui and Miss Pauline Wong. Further points were raised regarding the selling of merchandise in China at the sponsor’s stores with modified BCFC logos.
Sounds like Peter Pannu is as unhappy as us with some of the dealings by board members.
Vico Hui has resigned thankfully and leaves next month after he also failed to attend a meeting in which the rest of the board wanted answers.

He doesn’t sound happy.
“It is understood that Vico Hui had resigned” sounds like he’s making the point that he’s in the dark as much as we are on a lot of issues.
