Academy Pre-Season in Slovenia
Whilst the first team have jetted out to Austria for their pre-season training camp, the Development and Academy Squads have also left the country for a week’s training in Slovenia culminating in u18 and u21 games against NK Maribor on Saturday 21 July.
Blues have named a 28-man squad for the trip which includes four trialists. The squad also includes three players with pro contracts in Amarii Bell, Brice Ntambwe and Fisayo Adarabioyo, along with rising stars Nick Townsend, James Fry and Josh Hawker.
I will be doing my best to bring any updates I can from the trip, which comes prior to the Academy’s involvement in the Stad en Landtoernooi van Be Quick u19 Tournament in the Netherlands in August.
Full Squad:
Amarii Bell, Bobby Moseley, Brice Ntambwe, Callum Preston, Callum Thomson, Charlee Adams, Connal Trueman, Demarai Gray, Deqwon Ebanks, Emmit Delfouneso, George McGee, James Fry, Jean Kalenda, Joshua Dacres Cogley, Josh Hawker, Liam Truslove, Fisayo Adarabioyo, Nathaniel Kelly, Nick Townsend, Peter Denton, Reece Brown, Reece Hales, Reece Webb, Viv Solomon Otabor and four trialists.

Who’s the fourth trailist? I know of Carter, Naylor and Robinson
Academy trialists fella – not those three…
Is Callum Preston any relation to former academy graduate Dan Preston?
I don’t know if I’m honest
No he’s part of the young good goalkeeping pool that we have
We can’t be all that skint, what with the 1st team squad in Austria & now the Academicians in Slovenia. At least they’re not on The Lickeys or on Clent.
This is the Academy’s second year in Slovenia too – they went there last year also…
Well they’ve all saved money not going up to Oldham…
Not really they’re going to Bury closely that they don’t have to cancel their Premier Inn booking :-)
Haha oh yeah.
Let us all wish the young Academy lads all the best in their tournament, — 3, cheers,!!!.
Almajir/Delfouneso,he is any relation to the Delfouneso on the other side of the m38?
