Referee Watch – Eddie Ilderton
Barring any late changes, Eddie Ilderton of Tyne and Wear will be in the middle for Blues’ Championship game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium this afternoon. Here is a look at his stats.
Season Performance
Mr Ilderton has taken charge of three games so far this season, showing five yellow cards and one red, with this being his first Championship game of the season. Last season Mr Ilderton took charge of thirty-five games, showing one hundred and eleven yellow cards and four red cards. Of those games, fifteen were in the Championship and in those games Mr Ilderton handed out forty-two cautions.
Last Blues Game Refereed
The last game involving Birmingham City that Mr Ilderton was in charge of was the 2-2 draw with Burnley on December 22 2012. In that game Mr Ilderton showed six yellow cards, to Curtis Davies, Mitch Hancox, Hayden Mullins and Ravel Morrison of Birmingham City and to Joe Mills and Chris McCann of Burnley. Despite handing out so many yellows Mr Ilderton didn’t merit a mention in my match reflections of that game.
Last Championship Game Refereed
The last game in this division that Mr Ilderton officiated in was the match between Leicester and Bolton on 16 April which finished 3-2 to the home side. In that game Mr Ilderton handed out two yellow cards, to Lloyd Dyer of Leicester and Mikel Alonso of Bolton.

I think we are getting a bit concerned the amount of cards some of our players are receiving. It would be nice to go a few games without cards. Imo i cannot see that happening…..at some stage it going to kick us in the boll**
I really hope not…….
Robbo on 3, Eardley and Burn on 2. So our defence is going to be clobbered at some point soon.
