Yesterday was a hard day for Alpaslan Ozturk. After being told by the club he wasn’t going to be offered a deal, he tweeted from his account that he had been released by the club because they couldn’t afford to pay the £30,000 compensation for him. Of course, with the parlous state of Blues’ finances being well known, this provoked a certain amount of discussion, debate and anger amongst some Blues fans, who couldn’t believe that the club couldn’t afford thirty grand for a fairly promising youth player. Now, his twitter account has been deleted, and young Alpa has to reflect on how harsh a mistess social media is.
