The McLeish Saga: Yet another statement
Tuesday 14th June was quite a momentous day in midlands football. Despite all three parties supposedly keeping their counsel and leaving it in the hands of lawyers, all three – McLeish, Aston Villa FC and Birmingham City FC made statements with varying degrees of bombast about how they were right, the others were wrong and that they were having the last word. Billy Smart would have nothing on the sideshow that yesterday was.

Is McLeish a Judas?
Well, it’s never been dull being a Bluenose. There’s been a ton of rumours today about Blues, McLeish and Villa – the facts however are the club have said that there has been no contact between Villa and Blues about McLeish. I thought I’d look at the “Judas” allegations though.

McLeish to Villa? No way
Whilst the summer hasn’t been a bundle of laughs for us Bluenoses, it’s not been kind to our brethren from across the expressway either. Having decided to get rid of their manager, they’re gradually working their way down a shortlist of managers who are knocking them back faster than a Scotsman on New Year’s Eve. It had to happen; aat the current time of writing, Ladbrokes have McLeish at 2-1 to be the next Villa manager. Has the world gone mad?

Managerial Musical Chairs
It appears that Houllier’s departure from Villa yesterday has finally started off the end of season game of managerial musical chairs, and as McLeish is seen by many within the club as under threat of losing his job, I thought this was worth a discussion.
