Gossip Folks Week Four

It’s the halfway point in the transfer window now, and I thought it was time to take another look at the transfer window spreadsheet I’ve been building.

I have to admit, as the transfer window continued, I expected the rumours to build as Blues grew more desperate to sell players. However, after Colin Tattum revealed on Saturday that the need to sell wasn’t so great, it might just be that the rumour mill slows down a bit. There is already evidence of this – James Nursey tweeted yesterday that the Beausejour to WBA rumour may well come to nothing.

I’ve updated my spreadsheet here. One rumour that I think is interesting is the Ben Foster to QPR story in the People yesterday – it was my understanding that as WBA had paid a loan fee to take Foster for the season, then his loan couldn’t be interrupted. This deal is further complicated as the way Foster’s loan was paid for was by lending us Myhill. However, I’ve been informed that there are complications because it’s a goalkeeper loan, and it just may be possible that the loan could be terminated so that QPR could sign him. I’m doubtful it will happen though, particularly as it’s well known that Foster doesn’t want to move from the Midlands.

Speaking of goalkeepers, there also was a story about Colin Doyle potentially leaving the club. Doyle has six months left on his deal and with the meteoric rise of Jack Butland the Irishman has to be wondering if he will ever get the number one goalkeeper spot. Doyle isn’t the only player out of contract at the end of the season; Stephen Carr, David Murphy, Enric Valles, Jake Jervis and Luke Hubbins are also into the last six months of their deals although in honesty I can’t see any of them being swooped upon in a Bosman style yet; only foreign clubs can approach them at the moment with English teams forced to wait until the third Sunday in May.

I’ll post my next update next Monday; I’ll be very interested to see if the money that is coming in from the Far East is enough to convince Fleet Street that Blues aren’t having a fire sale after all.

How does Nursey get away with it? speculates that someone is ‘ready’ to offer money when they are not and haven’t? This guy continually destabalises our club by linking our players all over the place. I think agents pay him a retainer. Foster for £5m? No one would pay that much let’s be realists about it

Hello! – Sorry if i have missed a trick but i have read/heard comments from various sources stating blues are not under as much pressure to sell – why is that? Whats changed recently?

It’s linked in the article – just click “Colin Tattum”

      To specifically quote:

And it is understood that after his most recent visit Yeung, BIHL and its shareholders accepted that help was required.

It’s likely an injection of cash will be forthcoming to help tide Blues over, and put Pannu and Hughton in a better position transfer-wise this month.

Nursey is just a lying tool, end of story!

Get Carr signed up for another year!

Anyone kno whats happening with Nile Ranger? CH had a loan bid turned down by Newcastle but he then ended up at Barnsley after we signed Chris Wood instead. Not heard anything of him since, not even playin for Barnsley.

I think this is the point Almajir was trying to make, to see which reporter / sources actually get things right. The more players these reporters mention the more likely they will get One correct. I wish they’d leave us alone but then to a point, all the media has left us alone this season.

    Transfer rumour….loan in-Striker/Simon Cox from (WBA)……loan out-Defender/Liam Ridgewell to(WBA)
    Source-Radio WM Monday 19.30 hours ;)

It’s not so much which reporter is ‘right’ as anyone can write a million stories of speculation and stuff from agents (Nursey) and one might come off. It’s about credibility and facts and which reporter you actually trust and believe
