The Return of Keith
When Blues come in for training this morning at Wast Hills they will be rejoined by Keith Fahey who is completing his rehabilitation from a groin injury that kept him out of the European Championships. Fahey, who trained lightly with the main group last week is back in the swing of things this week and will be looking to be in the squad to travel to the City Ground to play Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

Ticketing and Prices
There has been a lot of continued debate about tickets, attendances and pricing at St Andrews over the last few days and whilst I know it’s an emotive subject I thought I would touch upon ticketing and low attendances for today’s piece. Before I go any further I think that I should reaffirm that I’m not speaking for everyone – I’m only giving my opinion – and that I think it’s important to remember that a person’s individual choice re going to the games is just that – their own individual choice and thus their decision alone.

The Zigic Saga Goes On
As we enter the last day of the Summer 2012 transfer window the never-ending saga of Nikola Zigic leaving for pastures new is still going. For the last three transfer windows there have been rumours and whispers that Nikola was moving on, with nothing coming to fruition. Will today be any different?

Must Win Game?
Before the season started, I didn’t envisage that Blues would have a must win game by the first of September, but it does seem that it is that way. You only have to read the comments on the previous pieces on here, let alone anywhere else to see that there are unhappy people out there – and there is already people saying the dreaded words “Clark Out”. What has gone so seriously wrong?

The Mallorcan Standoff
For the last three transfer windows there have been rumours of Nikola Zigic returning to Spain, allowing his hefty salary to be lifted from the wage bill. This transfer window has been no different, although there has been a step up in gear it would seem on the pressure put on Blues to let the lanky Serb go.

Don’t Panic
I think it’s fairly safe to say that there are a lot of unimpressed Blues fans out there. Two games in, both against promoted opposition and only one point picked up have led to calls from some for changes within the team, new signings – the whole kit and caboodle. Are things really that bad?

Right Back To The Drawing Board?
There was an interesting thread on smallheathalliance.com concerning the issue Blues have surrounding the right-slot. With Stephen Carr not likely to make the game, Jonathan Spector out for a while yet and now Will Packwood having picked up an injury which way do Blues go?

Butland and England
Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland could be in the rather bizarre position of making his senior England debut before his Blues debut on Wednesday after former Blues keeper Joe Hart pulled out of the Italy friendly. It’s been a meteoric rise for Butland – England’s 3rd choice at Euro 2012, Team GB first choice at the Olympics and now this. Will he really be given the nod?

To Play or Not to Play? That Is The Question
Today sees the final friendly of Blues’ pre-season and the only one at St Andrews, against Royal Antwerp of Belgium. It promises to be an interesting game with it already being confirmed that Jack Butland and new loan signing Ravel Morrison are to play for the first time at St Andrews.

Carter and Hancox
Wednesday was a day of contrasts at Birmingham City. On trial midfielder Darren Carter was told by Blues manager Lee Clark that he would not be offered a contract at St Andrews whilst young rookie left-back Mitch Hancox was given the squad number 27 for the season ahead.
