Federico Macheda
Momentum and Change
Judging by the way my twitter feed exploded yesterday after the announcement made by Peter Pannu and Birmingham City there are a lot of fans who want to know just who is behind this British/North American consortium who are in negotiations for the club – which if one considers the protracted nature of the sale of the club is understandable.

Dear Lee: Leeds Preview
Blues face Leeds today in what is a crunch game in the Championship – win it and the teams around us lose and we are virtually mathematically safe; the reverse and we are in deep trouble. A game without a win today also sets a much unwanted all-time record in the Championship of seventeen home league games without a win. With this in mind I’ve decided to dispense with the normal style of these pieces and address this directly to Lee Clark.

Looking Up
Two goals from Federico Macheda helped Birmingham come back from 1-0 half time deficit against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday to win 3-1, lifting the Blues up to 18th place, seven points clear of the bottom three.

Keeping goals out at the Keepmoat – Doncaster Preview
Birmingham City face Doncaster Rovers today in a crunch clash that could see the loser well and truly dragged into the relegation mix. Blues go into the game knowing a win will take them above Rovers while defeat could reduce the gap between them and the bottom three to just two points.

Small Steps
Birmingham City returned to winning ways on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Charlton away at the Valley. Goals in either half from on-loan Federico Macheda secured what was the team’s first league win of 2014.

You Can’t Win Anything With Loanees
Birmingham City fielded what is thought to be their youngest ever starting XI on Saturday with an average age of just 21.8 – which was only brought up to that level by the presence of 34-year-old Peter Lovenkrands and 31-year-old Brian Howard.
