Birmingham City lost to Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 last night leaving them in 20th place in the SkyBet Championship with just six points from seven games. Second half goals from Stevie May and Jeremy Helan were enough to sink Blues who by most accounts had had a good first half.

Looking Forward
Birmingham City players, staff and management came together last night to celebrate the end of season player awards at the International Convention Centre. Following the dramatic last day escape from relegation the mood within the hall was one of relief and of happiness in the face of what might had been.

The Great Escape
An injury time equaliser from Paul Caddis for Birmingham City against Bolton ensured that it was Doncaster Rovers and not the Blues who were relegated to League One. In a “Great Escape” Steve McQueen would have been proud of Birmingham City stayed up by virtue of a superior goal difference to Paul Dickov’s men having come back from 2-0 down against Bolton.

Takeover Talks and Share Speculation
It’s been reported in the Birmingham Mail today that Panos Pavlakis is trying to push forwards the sale of Birmingham City in recent weeks, delivering presentations with finance director Roger Lloyd to various parties in an effort interest someone enough to make a bid.

Eighth Away Win Takes Blues Eight Points Clear
Birmingham City beat Millwall 3-2 last night to record their eighth away league win of the season putting them eight points clear of the relegation zone once more. Goals from Jordon Ibe, Andy Shinnie and Nikola Zigic secured the points despite a late penalty awarded to Millwall.
