Panos Pavlakis
Happily Ever After
We’re less than a week away from the completion of what must be the longest-running saga in football – the takeover of Birmingham City by Trillion Trophy Asia. Yes, it’s true it’s going to be anti-climactic because it’s actually the shares in the holding company resuming trading with a different person at the helm – but this is it yeah? Happily ever after?

BIH: The Home Straight
It’s now just eleven days before the scheduled date for the resumption of trading in shares in Birmingham International Holdings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange – and with it the completion of the takeover of the company by Trillion Trophy Asia.

October Positivity
Birmingham City enter the October international break in a strong position after beating Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at St Andrew’s on Saturday. That result leaves Blues in 6th place on 20 points having lost fewer games than any other team in the division.

In Flight Positivity
If there is one thing that has been proven in the last two years or so, it’s that having a figurehead for the club’s owners resident in Birmingham is good for the club. Regardless of what he’s actually done the biggest thing Panos Pavlakis has achieved in my eyes is to be seen as a force for good by a large number of Blues fans.

A Quiet May for a Change
It’s the first weekend of the close-season and it’s all gone quiet around St Andrew’s. Gary and the players are no doubt on holiday somewhere, Panos is out and about in the Chinese restaurants and bars in town (I saw him in the Arcadian this time last week) – and I’m at home scratching around for something to write about.

Why is the takeover taking so long?
One question that I have been asked a lot of late is “what if?” What if Carson overturns his appeal? What if Blues pull off the impossible dream and gets promoted? What if Trillion Trophy Asia decide they don’t want to fund Birmingham City any more?

Dimmy
By the time you read this, Demarai Gray may not be a Blues player any more. As I write it there has been no official confirmation of him going anywhere, but it’s known he had a medical on Saturday at an unnamed Premier League club (apparently Leicester) and there is at least one other club (apparently Everton) interested in him.

Positive Intent
2016 is upon us, and with it comes the transfer window which opens tomorrow until 11pm, February 1. As always, it’ll be a time of rumours – which club Dimmy Gray is being watched by, which club Dimmy Gray might move to etc. However, Blues are expected to bring in players too with Rowett talking about looking at bringing in two attackers and a defender.
